Big Brother Canada’s season 8 came to an unexpected end when the COVID-19 pandemic swept through the globe, but that hasn’t kept the show from moving forward with season 9. Set to air next spring, Big Brother Canada is accepting online applications. Showrunner and executive producer Erin Brock stated that she is “ready to embark on another casting journey in search of Canadians who represent our country.”

With the need for fresh faces on the new season, the audition process is as open as it could be. It also means that Canada is traveling in a different direction than what its sister program in America did with the BB All-Stars season. Newer contestants keep the already shocking show avant-garde. So, how does one shoot their shot with Big Brother Canada?

According Global News, applications can be submitted on Big Brother Canada's casting website, in order to be in line with COVID-19 regulations, casting will not be following precedent. Instead, auditions are now held completely online. Never has it been so easy to compete for the cash prize. Clearly, many will take advantage of the opportunity, which means the competition has already begun.

There are three pretty straightforward steps to take in order to be considered for season 9. The first one is to record a short video explaining why you’ve got what it takes to be a houseguest. The second is to visit the official casting site. And the third is to upload a photo of yourself with a simple profile. Any hopeful houseguests should note that applications are due by November 15, 2020. More details and information are available on the casting website listed above.

One amazing element that could be of useful to those who opt to audition is the fact that friends and family are also allowed to nominate people or enhance the chances of applicants getting cast. That is done by tagging @bigbrotherca and using the #FutureHOH tag in posts. Anyone auditioning should keep in mind that they must be at least 19 years old by February 1, 2021.

Brock urges people to take advantage of the moment as it is a “once-in-a-lifetime experience.” She’s right. Getting the opportunity to be on a global reality game show that turns ordinary citizens into power-hungry competitors isn’t something you come by every day. So Canadians, now’s the time to start your career as a Big Brother Canada reality TV personality.
