Big Brother 23's Britini D'Angelo is being dragged by fans for her constant crying leading up to eviction night. Britini survived eviction last week when she was on the block alongside Brandon "Frenchie" French. Frenchie was ultimately sent home with an 11-1 vote. Now, Britini is on the block yet again.
On night one inside the house, Frenchie chose Britini to be a part of his team, The Jokers. Since he was her team captain, sitting on the block alongside Frenchie last week was extra difficult for Britini. Although this is now her second week in a row of being on the block, Britini has never been the target. Both weeks, the Head of Household, along with many of her fellow houseguests, have assured Britini that she is simply a pawn. Despite the constant reassurance she has been receiving, Britini has become quite emotional during both of her nominations.
Now, Big Brother fans are getting tired of her constant crying. Reddit fans have been discussing Britini's emotional approach to the game. They believe both she and her good friend inside the house, Azah Awasum, do not know how to leave their emotions out of the game. It is understandable that being nominated for the first time, especially when it is a shock, can be an emotional experience; however, houseguests can't cry every time something does not go their way in the game. Britini also became very emotional after losing the Wildcard Competition prior to the nomination ceremony.
Some fans came to the defense of Britini, explaining that crying may be her way of expressing frustration. One user theorized that "it’s a manipulative tactic since it’s working on her team." Others noted that her autism could in fact play a role in how she expresses her emotions throughout the game. On the other hand, fans have become frustrated by Britini's constant claims that being on the block is not fair. One comment read, "she acts like she’s a threat but no one sees her as one (for right now) that’s what a pawn does and it seems like she doesn’t get it, if that was the case she would’ve been gone already." Unfortunately, that is simply how the game is played. Because Britini does not know how to play the game without her emotions, viewers do not enjoy her on the show. In fact, many are hoping she gets evicted soon, especially prior to jury. If Britini does make it to jury, she will most likely be an emotional juror who will ultimately cast her vote based on personal emotions and feelings toward the final two, rather than gameplay.
Luckily for Britini, there is a very low chance of her actually walking out the door during tonight's live eviction; however, if the other houseguests start to become annoyed by her constant crying like fans are, there is a chance she will find herself on the block yet again but this time she may actually be evicted. Hopefully, her Big Brother teammates Azah and Derek Frazier can continue to help her keep her emotions under control so that she does not get nominated for a third week in a row. Or, an even better option is for one of them to win the next HOH so they can all remain safe for the week.
