Daniele Donato and Nicole Franzel have used David Alexander as the ultimate scapegoat for their plans to evict Ian Terry on Big Brother 22: All-Stars. It's no secret that this has been a rough season for David. He has admitted to the fact that this feels like his first time actually playing Big Brother, and many houseguests have been using him to further their own games. Of course, that strategy is as old as time on the show and a perfectly valid form of gameplay. With that said, Dani and Nicole's latest plan to use David as a scapegoat has worked so well that he barely has any chance to defend himself.

Nicole Franzel had a Final 2 deal with Ian Terry since their first week on Big Brother 22. Also from the start, Da'Vonne Rogers agreed with Nicole that they should overcome their BB18 drama and not take direct shots at each other during this season. Last week, Ian was put on the nomination block against Tyler. Ian only needed four votes to tie with Tyler, which meant that he had a shot at staying in the house if Da'Vonne, Kevin, and David voted to keep him in. After all, Nicole's vote to save Ian was seemingly guaranteed. But when Nicole flipped and voted to evict Ian instead, she and Dani put the blame on David.

The reason why David has been the perfect scapegoat for Daniele and Nicole's game on Big Brother: All-Stars is that he had shown no loyalty to Da'Vonne, Kevin, or Bayleigh during the entire season. In fact, even before the votes to evict Ian were cast, Da'Vonne and Kevin checked on David multiple times to make sure that he was actually going through with it. When the vote came out as 5-3 instead of 4-4, Da'Vonne and Kevin immediately jumped to the conclusion that Nicole had no reason to flip on the only other former BB winner in the house, as it would place a bigger target on her now. Up until that point, Nicole had also owned up to her promise of not betraying Da'Vonne directly. On the other hand, David and Da'Vonne had clashed all season long.

At this point, Da'Vonne and Kevin have come to the realization that there's a much bigger alliance on BB22 that involves Nicole. With that conclusion, Da'Vonne is slowly accepting that David was probably telling her the truth this time around. But it is now unfortunately too late for them to turn the game around. Overall, Da'Vonne, Kevin, and David are outnumbered by the Committee even if they become united. Their only chance of staying in the game now is if they keep winning HOHs until the end of the season... which, while possible, is a very hard thing to do.

Personal matters aside, the move to use David as a scapegoat was a pretty bold move from Nicole and Daniele. With that said, it's very dangerous for Nicole's endgame for someone to be sent to the jury house with the information that she was the deciding vote that caused Ian's eviction. Whenever that information does reach Ian, it's possible that he will poison the jury against Nicole, even if she were to get to Final 2 on this season.
