When the fans tuned in to watch Big Brother 8 in 2007, they met Amber Siyavus, a 27-year-old single mother from Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon entering the house, Amber was another one of the houseguests who were the most tormented by "Evel Dick" Donato. She was also known for being very religious and crying frequently inside the house, which led to her nickname "Whamber." Ultimately, Amber was evicted from BB8 during week eight, finishing up in seventh place and becoming the third member of the jury. At the finale night, she voted for Dick to win the game on finale night.

Ever since she appeared on BB8, it is unknown what Amber is up to today. Overall, it does not seem like Amber has any active profiles on social media. With that said, the fans do know that something tragic has happened in her life, and this tragedy changed everything for Amber.

On January 12, 2018, it was revealed that Amber's daughter, Lexi, who she had talked about frequently on Big Brother 8, had tragically passed away from a suspected suicide at the young age of 18. According to InQuisitr, Lexi committed suicide less than three months after the death of her best friend. After suffering this tragedy, many fans of the show offered their condolences and support to Amber via social media.

Amber had to face this tragedy nearly three years ago, so BB8 fans can definitely understand why Amber has chosen not to be present online. She's likely still grieving. For a parent who has lost a child, the pain never fully ceases, and Amber may want privacy as she continues to process her emotions. Per the InQuisitr report, Amber had this to say about her daughter after she appeared on Big Brother 8 in 2007: "I’ve talked to her every day, like 10 times a day. Talk to her in the morning, on her way to school, the whole time she’s in the car. I talk her to sleep at night. It touches my heart. My daughter is my life. I love my daughter, me and her are best friends. Everything that she is, I am, and I’ve taught her to be the person she is as much as she’s taught me to be the person that I am." The heartbreak she is experiencing over the death of her best friend and daughter is unimaginable.

First and foremost, Big Brother star Amber was a mother who loved her daughter a lot. She is certainly remembered for often talking about Lexi to her fellow houseguests. That is not an easy thing to go through as a parent, and it could possibly have been more difficult for Amber if she had remained in the public eye.
