It's been only about a month since Xavier Prather was crowned the winner of season 23, but fans are already looking forward to Big Brother 24, which is scheduled to air in the summer of 2022. Even though a new season has already been confirmed by CBS, fans don't know too many details of what season 24 will have in store for them. They're confident that BB24 will happen according to schedule, but not much else has been speculated.

As a whole, BB23 was a milestone season as the show ended up with Xavier as the first-ever Black winner of Big Brother. Xavier was a part of the dominating six-person alliance known as the Cookout. In addition to Xavier, the Cookout was made up of Kyland Young, Derek Frazier, Tiffany Mitchell, Hannah Chaddha, and Azah Awasum. Together, this group of six made Big Brother history by not only being the first alliance to ever successfully make it to the end of the game together but by also ensuring the season would conclude with the show's first-ever Black winner being crowned.

Since season 23 was so successful this past summer, the standards will be held high for next summer. With that said, fans are already counting down the days until a new group of houseguests moves into the Big Brother house. So far, very few details have been shared about next summer's season. However, longtime Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves has in fact confirmed the show has been renewed for another season. She shared the news on Twitter following the conclusion of BB23 in September. CBS also confirmed the new season on Twitter on the same day.

For fans who have always dreamed of competing on Big Brother, this might be their time to shine, as casting for Big Brother 24 has already begun. Those interested can apply on CBS' website. In the past, CBS held open auditions in addition to accepting online applications. However, they have since done away with that due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It's unclear if the open auditions will return in time for season 24. Similar to years past, applicants must submit a short video introducing themselves in order to be considered by the casting team. Although CBS is accepting applications for BB24, the true casting process will likely begin in early spring after Celebrity Big Brother 3 ends its run on CBS in early 2022.

Luckily for those who may not be too sure of what to include in their introduction video, CBS has provided a short video of instructions to review before applying. Other details of the new season remain vague, but there have been rumors that the cast will include at least one returning houseguest. On the other hand, that rumor has not be confirmed nor denied by CBS. Although Big Brother 24 is still many months away, fans still have the celebrity season to look forward to in February.
