Big Brother 23 is finally here, and the fans who'll keep up with the show want to better understand the BB23 schedule following the season premiere week. Longtime BB viewers are very excited that a new season is airing this summer 2021. According to executive producers Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan, the BB23 players will be immediately thrown into a competition that will have four winners.

The four houseguests that win this first Big Brother 23 competition will become the Team Captains of the season. They will then get to draft other players to join their teams. The entire first month of BB23 will be played in groups, so this is a major decision for the contestants to face this early in the game. These four Team Captains will then get to compete during the first Head of Household comp of the season.

When it comes to Big Brother 23, the game will be all about "big risks and big rewards." The producers want to encourage the players to take more chances throughout the competition, which feels like a response to the slow pacing of Big Brother 22: All-Stars last year. To kick things off for BB23, CBS is promising a premiere episode that will be filled with comps and excitement.

Big Brother 23 Premiere & Week One Schedule

As announced by CBS, the grand premiere of Big Brother 23 will air on Wednesday, July 7 at 8pm ET/PT. This first episode will be 90 minutes long, and it will feature a live move-in for the 16 houseguests. The show will kick off CBS' reality TV-heavy summer season, with Love Island USA season 3 premiering immediately after BB23. Then, it should be noted that there will not be a new episode on Thursday, July 8. Following the premiere, the next episode of Big Brother 23 will air on Sunday, July 11 at 8pm ET/PT. From this point forward, all the new episodes of BB23 are scheduled to be an hour long.

Big Brother 23 Schedule Starting In Week Two

After the second episode airs on Sunday, July 11, Big Brother 23 will follow its long-standing traditional schedule. Over the course of the season, new BB23 episodes will air Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays - always at 8pm ET/PT. The Thursday episodes are being labeled as "live eviction" episodes. With that said, it's important to keep in mind that many Thursday eviction episodes on Big Brother 22 were not actually live, so that might happen on BB23 as well.

Otherwise, certain small changes could happen to the BB23 schedule depending on live sports and other high-profile events that require live coverage. As an example, one episode of BB22 aired on a different night last year due to a sports game. Alas, it was a one-time occurrence, so the fans can just keep in mind the series' traditional schedule as a rule of thumb.
