Amidst the chaos of the Big Brother: All Stars premiere, Julie revealed a brand new twist for the season. The exact nature of the "Safety Suite" twist remains unclear, but with the first competition of the season over with, we have a slightly better sense of what the twist is and how it works. It seems this week's Safety Suite reveal was a big one for the houseguests, even impacting HOH Cody's nominations.

At the start of each new week in the Big Brother house, houseguests can choose to use their "VIP Access Card" in order to compete in a competition for safety. The winner of the competition is safe for the week, and can choose a +1 to be safe as well. While most of the details surrounding the twist remain speculative, it seems that players can only compete in the competition once. Kaysar and Janelle were the only houseguests to use their VIP access this week. Kaysar won the competition and granted safety to Janelle.

According to Big Brother Network, Kaysar was Cody's target for the week. With both Kaysar and Janelle safe for the week, it seems Cody decided to nominate Keesha and Kevin. It is not entirely clear who Cody is targeting now, although many houseguests seem to plan on voting out Keesha as it currently stands. It is also worth noting that Janelle has been seen on the live feeds wearing a costume, which seems to be related to either her status as Kaysar's +1 in the Safety Suite, or losing the competition to him.

The Safety Suite seems to be a nice addition to BB's growing collection of twists. From what we know about it so far, the twist seems to provide players with a difficult but worthwhile strategic decision. If a player participates in the competition, they are admitting that they do not feel safe with the current HOH. Further, the winner's choice as a +1 can reveal a key alliance, which was likely the case with Kaysar and Janelle. Of course, it seems a developing theme of Big Brother: All Stars is the battle between old-school and new-school, similar to how Survivor: Winners at War played out. With Cody originally planning to target old-school players in Kaysar and Janelle, and now doing something similar with Keesha and Kevin, the Safety Suite competition might provide a much-needed lifeline to whichever faction finds itself in trouble any given week.

Even as spoilers continue to spill out from inside the Big Brother house, several details remain unclear. For example, is the Safety Suite a physical location within the house, or is it just the name of a weekly competition? Julie did mention new rooms in the house, but there has been no further mention of that little hint. Perhaps everything will come together when the Safety Suite competition airs Sunday night.
