They say it all started with a big bang, and that bang was brought to life in 2007 with the show The Big Bang Theory. The series shares the chronicles of several male scientists and the pretty girl next store. It was a huge hit, lasting for over 270 episodes and spanning twelve years of production.

While fans have always loved the series, TBBT has still had its low points. Not every story line can be a winner, and viewers have taken to IMDb to rate each episode on a scale of one to ten. Here are the lowest rated episodes for each season.

Season 1: Episode 3 The Fuzzy Boots Corollary - 7.8

While returning mail to Penny's, Leonard stumbles upon Penny kissing someone in the hall outside of her apartment. Leonard is heartbroken because he has a crush on Penny, and it appears that he has missed out on his chance to be with her. At the urging of his friends, he asks out a scientist at work, and when the date doesn't go as well as he had hoped, he decides to just go for it and asks out Penny.

Season 2: Episode 10 The Vartabedian Conundrum - 7.8

There is debate as to whether or not Stephanie is living in Sheldon and Leonard's apartment. Sheldon says she is, but Leonard insists that she is not. After finally accepting that she is indeed living with them, Leonard tries to tell her that he wants to take things slower in their relationship. However, they get a bit sidetracked multiple times, and he eventually gives up on trying to have the conversation.

Season 3: Episode 6 The Cornhusker Vortex - 7.6

Penny is planning to have some friends over to watch a football game, but she doesn't invite Leonard because he doesn't like football. Leonard takes this personally and worries that Penny is embarrassed by him and doesn't want to introduce him to her friends.

After he confronts Penny, she invites him to watch the next game with her friends. Leonard takes the time to learn about football in the attempts to understand the game.

Season 4: Episode 12 The Bus Pants Utilization - 7.7

Leonard has a brilliant idea for an app that can help identify differential equations. After telling his friends, they decide that they will work together to develop the app. Sheldon worries that Penny will steal the idea, even though Penny insists that a large reason why she is friends with them is to get free food. Working with Sheldon becomes difficult as he mocks and makes fun of Leonard for the way he leads the group.

Season 5: Episode 11 The Speckerman Recurrence - 7.4

An old high school bully of Leonard's, Jimmy, contacts him and says he wants to get together for a drink. Leonard debates meeting up with him, but he ultimately decides to go. Jimmy acts as if they were always friends and reveals that he contacted Leonard to see if he could help develop his idea for 3D movie glasses. Sheldon butts in and brings up Jimmy's bullying, and Jimmy claims he thought it was all in good fun. Jimmy later arrives to Leonard's apartment drunk to apologize for a list of things he did wrong in the past.

Season 6: Episode 1 The Date Night Variable - 7.7

Four episodes hold the bottom spot for this season, and in this episode, Amy is preparing for her two year anniversary date with Sheldon. When Raj proclaims that he is lonely, Sheldon decides to invite him on the date as well, claiming that there is nothing in his and Amy's Relationship Agreement that says he can't bring someone along.

Amy becomes upset when she sees that Raj is tagging along for their date, but he sticks around. After spending some time with the couple, Raj goes on to crash Penny and Leonard's evening as well.

Season 7: Episode 12 The Hesitation Ramification - 7.5

After a dinner where he doesn't get others' jokes, and nobody laughs at his, Sheldon wonders if he's funny. Leonard doesn't think that he is, so Sheldon decides that he will develop a theory of comedy to make people laugh with him, rather than at him. Raj is having difficulty too, although for him, it's with talking to girls. Speaking of girls, Penny is excited that she received an acting role on NCIS, and when the gang gathers to watch the premiere, they find out that her scene was cut from the show. Two other Big Bang episodes also tied for last place this season.

Season 8: Episode 10 The Champagne Reflection - 7.0

Sheldon's internet series, "Fun with Flags," is coming to an end as he films the final episode. Amy helps him relive the highlights of the show with costumes and even a game. Meanwhile, Raj, Howard, and Leonard are cleaning out the office of a man called Professor Abbott, who recently passed away. They discuss how someday someone else will have the same task after they pass away, and they search through Professor Abbott's belongings and files to see what they can find.

Season 9: Episode 1 The Matrimonial Momentum - 6.8

Penny and Leonard have decided to elope, so they head to Las Vegas to tie the knot. They live-stream the non conventional ceremony to their friends back home, where things aren't going very well.

While watching the wedding at Bernadette and Howard's house, Sheldon insults Amy, due to being upset by her hesitancy and uncertainty surrounding their relationship. Amy breaks up with him, leaving Sheldon heartbroken, with Leonard comforting him instead of being with his wife on their wedding night.

Season 10: Episode 22 The Cognition Regeneration - 6.8

After performing poorly at a video game, Sheldon worries that his brain is slowing down, as he is not as good as he used to be. He learns about something called "super aging" in which a person can train their brain to perform better by taking part in mental exercises. While Sheldon works on improving his brain, Penny and Leonard are having dinner with Penny's ex Zack and his fiancee. Zack offers Penny a job, but Leonard is unhappy about this and hopes she will not take it.

Season 11: Episode 17 The Athenaeum Allocation - 6.9

Howard and Bernadette love being new parents, and they both adore their babies very much. While originally, they both plan to go back to work, they soon realize that they both would rather stay home and have the other go to work. Howard works hard to show that he would be a good stay-at-home dad, but the job is more tiring than he realized. Amy and Sheldon finally have picked a wedding date, but they do not have a venue. Leonard decides to help them find one, going out of his way to secure the perfect place.

Season 12: Episode 5 The Planetarium Collision - 6.8

Raj is doing a show at the planetarium, and it goes pretty well. Afterwards, while congratulating Raj, Howard meets the director of the planetarium, who invites Howard to join Raj in leading the next presentation. Raj is not happy about this, although Howard thinks that it would be fun and doesn't understand why Raj is upset about the idea. Sheldon and Amy are working on a string theory project together, but Sheldon becomes upset when Amy becomes busy with her own research. He decides to take her schedule into his own hands, giving little regard to her career.
