Due to its continued popularity, the cancelation of The Big Bang Theory was unexpected. While the rest of the cast was willing to continue the show beyond season 12, Parsons wasn't. It ultimately led to everyone deciding to wrap the sitcom altogether and come up with a satisfying send-off to the Pasadena gang. Surprisingly, CBS was able to do just that with The Big Bang Theory finale ended up being both satisfying and emotional.

As it has only been a few years since the show ended, it may take a while before a Big Bang Theory revival happens, if at all. Most cast members are currently busy with their respective new endeavors, so it would be difficult to recruit all of them at once. However, a reunion is more possible in the near future with several actors expressing their interest in returning.

For now, viewers will have to come to terms with the fact that the Pasadena gang's story has ended. Luckily, The Big Bang Theory franchise lives on with Young Sheldon which serves as an origins story for the boy genius. The shows have some plot inconsistencies between the two, but the prequel is the public's best bet in learning what Sheldon and the rest of his friend group are up to these days.
