More than a year after The Big Bang Theory wrapped up, Kaley Cuoco reprises her role as Penny and recreates an iconic scene between her character and Sheldon on TikTok. For a time, Penny was the only female character in the CBS sitcom, meaning she spent a considerable amount of time with the boys. While she had an unstable dynamic with Sheldon, the pair eventually developed a genuine friendship that lasted until the show ended in 2019.

Thanks to its availability on streaming platforms and reruns on TV, The Big Bang Theory continues to grow its already massive fan community. Both new and old viewers of the show have their own favorite moments from its 12-season run, but some of the series' funniest bits were from its earlier seasons, including one that features Penny pranking Sheldon back for his penchant for knocking repeatedly.

Cuoco recreated the specific scene from The Big Bang Theory season 2, episode 23 titled "The Monopolar Expedition" recently with Pierson Fodé on TikTok, who also uploaded the clip. In the video, Fodé plays Sheldon, who's supposedly frustratingly knocking on Penny's door, only for her to knock back. Using the same audio from the sitcom itself makes this bit all the funnier. Sheldon's triple knocking was a recurring trope in The Big Bang Theory, although the show didn't use it as much in later seasons. There have been several variations of it throughout the show's run, and it's mostly Penny who changed things up just to annoy Sheldon like in the aforementioned scene. While the show mostly used this particular trait for Sheldon, there's actually a dark reason behind this practice. As the socially-inept genius told Penny, he started knocking thrice after he accidentally stumbled upon his dad with another woman when he came home early from college. It will be interesting to see if The Big Bang Theory's prequel series, Young Sheldon, will ever tackle this, but it would be a missed opportunity if the show doesn't reveal what fully went down with this horrific experience.

While Penny liked making fun of Sheldon, she was also very understanding of him. Sheldon could be very difficult to deal with and sometimes downright mean, but through it all, Penny was mostly understanding. The pair had a great bond that almost rivaled Sheldon and Leonard's, which is saying a lot. But, through Penny's compassion and charm, Sheldon eventually accepted her as one of his best friends. It would've been great to see more of their friendship in The Big Bang Theory, especially with the finale revealing Penny and Leonard were expecting their first kid. However, viewers will have to make do with fun scene recreations like this one for now.
