Thanks to the bond between Sheldon, Leonard, Raj, and Howard, there were countless wholesome moments on The Big Bang Theory. The hit show had a primary focus on the better of science and exploration but another layer to the sitcom was friendship. Regardless of the ups, downs, and differences among friends, this foursome stuck together.
Dynamics changed when most of the characters got into serious relationships but their dedication to each other always shone through. From game nights to Comic-Con trips to supporting each other in their darkest moments, bromances in The Big Bang Theory were always a fan-favorite part of the sitcom.
Sheldon And Leonard's Sweet Moment In The Dressing Room
When Sheldon and Leonard accompanied Penny and Amy to the mall, they found themselves stuck in a dressing room without Wi-Fi. With no connection, they had no choice but to confront each other about the compromises they've made for their friendship. Both men said some shocking things but it wasn't anything far from the truth. By the end of the convo, the long-time roommates realized life was changing fast for them and that they didn't have much time left as roommates and best friends. The two began to cry at the thought of leaving each other, which tugged on fans' heartstrings.
Howard And Raj's Moment At The Planetarium
Raj and Howard had a hard 12th season as best buddies. Raj realized that Howard was at the root of his very intense confidence issues and wanted to separate himself from that kind of energy. When Raj essentially "broke up" with Howard, he blossomed and became a new man. This crushed Howard because he realized how awful he was to his best friend.
In "Planetarium Collision," Howard — dressed as an astronaut — was a guest on Raj's show. By the end of their conversation, they two ended up praising each other and hugging it out instead of throwing jabs in front of an audience.
The Disclaimer In Their Group Contract
In "The Application Deterioration," the gang created a patent for their gyroscope. However, as employees of Caltech, the university would be earning most of the profits from their idea. After talking it over, they decide to split their earnings three ways so that Howard could profit from the idea.
Considering that Howard and Sheldon have never had the best relationship, Howard and Bernadette had some trust issues going into business with Sheldon. When they looked at the revised contract, they realized Sheldon was setting aside a percentage of his earnings to a scholarship fund for their firstborn, Halley Wolowitz. This had to be one of the most selfless things Sheldon had ever done for Howard.
Howard’s Issue With Estrogen
While somewhat of a sexist storyline, Howard became overly emotional and whiny when he started rubbing an extra-strength estrogen cream on his mom. He had no idea that the cream would have lingering effects on his own hormones.
While at home with Raj, Howard needed a little confidence and asked Raj if he gained some weight (especially in his chest). The two lifted their shirts and danced around to make each other feel better before ending in an endearing hug. It's moments like these that Raj and Howard were at their best.
Leonard Was There For Sheldon When Professor Proton Died
Sheldon acts like he's not an emotional being but he's definitely had his moments. One emotional moment that caught him off-guard was when Professor Proton passed away. Sheldon didn't realize how hard it would hit him until it happened. Ever the sensitive one, Leonard knew it would be hard for Sheldon and treated him with kid gloves. When Sheldon woke up from a nap, Leonard came into his room to check on him and Sheldon hugged him unexpectedly. Seeing how tightly Sheldon grabbed Leonard proved how much he appreciated him.
Leonard's Nose Surgery
When Leonard's sinus issues become too annoying to deal with, he decided that surgery was the best route for him. The only problem is that Sheldon was horrified at the thought of his best friend and roommate going under the knife. He feared the worst and wasn't ready to say goodbye to Leonard. While Leonard was annoyed by Sheldon's constant badgering, it was a sweet bromance moment. Sheldon even skipped work to be at the hospital for Leonard when he came out of surgery. Sheldon could be a selfish friend and roommate, but when it counted, he was there for Leonard.
Raj & Stuart Came Together To Combat Their Social Anxieties
When Raj and Stuart were the last two singles in the friend group, they decided to grow together and face their fears as a duo. Together, they went to a mall where they encouraged each other to get out of their comfort zone and talk to a stranger. Seeing the two friends sit side by side on a mall bench, only comfortable in each other's presence was an underrated moment in the series.
When Raj Couldn’t Go To Comic-Con
When Raj cut himself off from his dad, he realized what an expensive lifestyle he was living and how he couldn't afford to keep it up without his father's financial backing. Now that Raj was responsible for himself, he was on a new budget.
The only problem was that with Comic-Con around the corner, Raj couldn't afford to go. Raj encouraged his friends to go without him but they didn't want to experience the weekend without Raj there. They all chipped in and gave him money for his ticket in a sweet moment.
Raj & Stuart Prepping For Baby Wolowitz
Howard and Bernadette were beyond fortunate to have as much support from Raj and Stuart as they did. They had all hands on deck to help with the baby, the cooking, and the cleaning. Seeing how dedicated Stuart and Raj were to support their friend's child was adorable. It was reminiscent of the movie Three Men and a Baby. They acted like it wasn't just Howard and Bernadette's baby; it was their baby too.
Howard & Raj's Band
Howard and Raj were basically the faces of bromance on The Big Bang Theory. In the ninth season, the best friends created a band called Footprints on the Moon. Together, they wrote songs that were related to both pop culture and science. Seeing them write, sing and dance together was the epitome of Howard and Raj. The band almost broke up several times but their dedication to their friendship (and the music) kept them together.
