What To Expect From BH90210 Season 2

BH90210 is a FOX summer hit but will the drama continue in season 2? Here's everything we know about the Beverly Hills 90210 reboot's continuation.

BH90210 Season 2

When will BH90210 season 2 release and what will it be about? The original cast of Beverly Hills 90210 - minus the late Luke Perry - reunited for an ambitious revival series with a very meta twist: this time, Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, and Brian Austin Green played heightened versions of themselves as they tried to launch a reboot of Beverly Hills 90210.

BH90210 season 1 was filled with all of the drama fans could want: after a testy reunion at 90210's 30th anniversary event in Las Vegas, which ended with the cast arrested and thrown in jail, they reluctantly decided to work together once more to produce a reboot of the 1990s FOX series that made them famous. However, elements of the 'real world' intruded on their plans: Jason Priestley learned that his wife Camille (Vanessa Lachey) got pregnant by another man, Jennie Garth fell for her bodyguard, Tori Spelling had to solve numerous problems as the reboot's producer, Ian Ziering lost his marriage, Gabrielle Carteris discovered she was interested in women, and Brian Austin Green learned he has a long-lost son. If that's not enough, Shannen Doherty joined the reboot and upended everything as fans would expect her to.

Even with the BH90210 season 1 finale, the story isn't over as the West Beverly Gang struggles to get their reboot series off the ground. With the revival poised to continue, here's what we know about BH90210 season 2.

BH90210 Season 2 Release Date Info

FOX has not yet announced whether there will be a BH90210 season 2. The series debuted to stellar ratings on FOX in August, making BH90210 the highest-rated summer series in two years. However, the ratings continually slid downwards throughout the season so BH90210 season 2 isn't a sure thing.

If BH90210 does get a season 2, odds are it will continue to be a summer event series that will be six episodes. Shannen Doherty described the reboot as "the perfect summer thing" and it provided a boost for FOX during the waning days of summer. Since filming on BH90210 season 1 began in the spring of 2019, BH90210's season 2 production would likely happen during a similar timeframe to get the show on the air in late-summer 2020.

Who Will Be In The Cast Of BH90210 Season 2

The cast of BH90210 season 2 would continue to include the six core stars, including Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Gabrielle Carteris, Ian Ziering, and Brian Austin Green. The original 90210 gang was thrilled to get back together and was happy by the fan response to their reunion, although the BH90210 cast may want increased salaries. Not surprisingly, however, Shannen Doherty indicated that she's not a lock to return for BH90210 season 2, telling US Weekly"I think we should just focus on the six [season 1 episodes] because — no projecting into the future."

BH90210 season 2 will also very likely add even more surprising guest stars culled from former Beverly Hills 90210 cast members. BH90210 brought in Christine Elise, who played Emily Valentine, as the FOX executive overseeing the reboot, Carol Potter, who played Cindy Walsh, appeared in a cameo, and so did Jamie Walters, who played Ray Pruit. Fans eagerly wonder what other famous faces from 90210's past could appear in BH90210 season 2.

What Will BH90210's Story Be About?

BH90210 season 1 was about the gang attempting to launch a Beverly Hills 90210 reboot and Tori Spelling told E! News that BH90210 season 2 would be about the show-within-the-show. This means that after spending all of season 1 facing numerous roadblocks to getting their reboot off the ground, BH90210 season 2 will finally show the series the cast has been laboring to launch.

Meanwhile, in BH90210's 'real world', Tori Spelling will continue to reconcile her feelings for Brian Austin Green, Jennie Garth has to come to terms with her attraction to Jason Priestley, who unexpectedly learned he might be a father, and Gabrielle Carteris has to further confront her changing sexual orientation - so there's plenty more drama yet to unfold in BH90210 season 2.
