Actress Betty White is celebrating her 100th birthday with a special in-theater event. Best known for her roles as Rose Nylund on the NBC sitcom The Golden Girls and Sue Ann Nivens on the CBS sitcom The Mary Tyler Moore Show, White has had a lengthy career in show business that has lasted over nine decades. Her latest credentials include voicing the character of Bitey White in Toy Story 4 and Mrs. Sarah Vanderwhoozie in Trouble.

White was a pioneer of early television, serving as one of the first women to exercise control in front of and behind the camera. She's also credited as the first woman to ever produce a sitcom, titled Life with Elizabeth, which she also starred in. White's eight decades in television earned her a Guinness World Record title in 2018 for having worked longer in that medium than anyone else in history. Her other awards include eight Emmys, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and a Grammy Award. She also has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame back in 1985. Now, White is ready to celebrate her life with the world as she turns 100 years old.

Fathom Events posts a special one-day-only event for White, which aims to celebrate her 100th birthday in-theaters on January 17, 2022. The event will showcase White's funniest moments from her career, including The Golden GirlsHot in ClevelandThe Proposal, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show. A star-studded cast of friends will also join White, which includes Ryan Reynolds, Robert Redford, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, and more. Tickets are currently on sale for two different time slots (1 pm and 7 pm).

White gave exclusive access to filmmakers Steve Boettcher and Mike Trinklein to craft the special event, which is titled "100 Years Young." Along with clips from her iconic roles, the event will feature behind-the-scenes looks at her life, as well as her relationship with her office staff and her animal advocate efforts. Rounding out the special will also be a never-before-seen look at a lost episode from the actress's"'50s sitcom days." In an effort to hype up her celebration, White offered a brief but poignant statement: "Who doesn’t love a party?!? This one is gonna be great."

From her iconic roles in film and television to her contributions in the entertainment industry and beyond, there is a reason White is known as "America's sweetheart." With decades of experience under her belt, The Golden Girls actress has undeniably touched many viewers, as well as fellow actors.
