Better Call Saul's Kim Wexler will have her own Saul Goodman persona to feature in season 6. Throughout the last five seasons, Better Call Saul has followed Jimmy McGill's (Bob Odenkirk) journey transforming into Saul Goodman, the "criminal" lawyer introduced in season 2 of Breaking Bad. The critically acclaimed AMC series has reunited fans with familiar characters pre-Breaking Bad while introducing new faces that cause viewers to question their fate after the events of Better Call Saul.

While the upcoming season 6 will bring the spin-off series to a close, there are still many questions left to answer following the season 5 finale "Something Unforgivable," which concluded with major cliffhangers. One of the show's most complex characters is Jimmy's love interest and attorney Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn), who notably is absent from Breaking Bad. While this does not necessarily mean she's dead during the Breaking Bad timeline, it does leave her fate questionable, especially as the character seems to be heading down a dark path of her own. After impulsively quitting her job as partner and head of a big law firm's banking division, she proposes a plan to Jimmy that they sabotage her former boss Howard (Patrick Fabian). As Kim finger-guns her way out of the room, Jimmy appears to be shocked by her sudden dark side. Kim's future remains a major speculation point for fans with only one season left of the Breaking Bad prequel series.

During a virtual screening for the show's fifth season finale, Seehorn spoke to Deadline about Kim's new persona. The actor teased Kim's answer to Jimmy's 'Saul' persona and the apparent dark side that's emerged.

"Do you see a very dark side of her there? Yes, you do. He brought Saul Goodman into our relationship, she’s bringing in this other person. There’s this self-righteous martyrdom going on."

Rhea Seehorn as Kim and Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy in Better Call Saul

Better Call Saul co-creator Peter Gould previously hinted at an item that fans should pay attention to regarding Kim's fate. Gould was referring to the tequila bottle stopper Kim goes back to grab from her desk drawer when she leaves her office for the final time, foreshadowing Kim's criminal turn in season 6.

A central theme of the Breaking Bad universe is transformations into new identities. Breaking Bad follows Walter White's (Bryan Cranston) metamorphosis from a down-on-his-luck high school teacher into the meth kingpin Heisenberg. While fans met Saul Goodman in his full form on Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul shows his transformation from a former con artist trying to be a respected attorney into a criminal lawyer. It's not a stretch to believe that Kim will also take on a criminal alter ego of her own. However, the big question is where that alter ego will land her, and fans will likely find out when season 6 airs sometime in 2021.
