When Jimmy and Kim got married in Better Call Saul, an officer of the court mentioned two previous dissolutions - but what happened to Jimmy's two previous wives? Since the very first episode, Kim and Jimmy have been the couple to root for on Better Call Saul, and one of the most simultaneously charming and tragic romances to watch unfold.

On the one hand, it's endearing to see the two of them go from friends to partners to lovers, but on the other, fans know that things can only end badly, considering that Kim is one of the main characters featured on Better Call Saul who isn't in Breaking Bad - which would seem to imply something sinister happening either to her or between the two of them. However, there's still about another season to go before fans need to be worried about that, which was made abundantly clear when Kim and Jimmy shocked everyone by getting married in season 5, episode 7, "JMM."

When they were at the courthouse to get married, an officer filing their paperwork asked if Jimmy had brought documentation of his two previous dissolutions, to which he replied "yes." Much about Jimmy's past marriages has been shrouded in mystery, but there have been small hints here and there about what happened to the two previous women he was with. One allegedly cheated on him with his stepdad, and the other with a man named Chet who owed money to Jimmy - an event which led to the invention of the infamous "Chicago sunroof."

Jimmy Kim and Huell Better Call Saul

As mentioned in Breaking Bad (and now Better Call Saul) Jimmy has had two wives before Kim, both of whom he ended up divorcing. Everything that's known about Jimmy's previous wives comes from the lips of Jimmy himself, so all information should be taken with a grain of salt - he seems pretty bitter about how both of his past relationships ended.

The first time one of his wives is mentioned is in Breaking Bad season 3 episode 4 "Green Light" when Saul tells Walt, "I caught my second wife screwing my stepdad. OK? It's a cruel world." Of course, there was always the possibility that Jimmy was joking, but the fact that he had two wives was then confirmed in an episode of Better Call Saul years later.

There's a little more known about Jimmy's first wife than his second. According to Jimmy, he found out she was cheating on him with a man named Chet, who owed Jimmy money. One day, Jimmy (who was drunk) bumped into Chet at a Dairy Queen and performed what he later referred to as a "Chicago sunroof" - that is, he defecated through the sunroof of his car - in retaliation.

As of right now, the fact that both of them cheated on Jimmy (one with his stepdad, one with Chet) is virtually all that is known about Jimmy's prior wives, as it seems like Better Call Saul is much more interested in focusing on his third wife - Kim Wexler. There's always the possibility that one of his past wives could cameo in a future episode, but it seems like the mention of the dissolutions was just a fun Easter egg for longtime fans.
