With confirmation that Walter White and Jesse Pinkman will appear on the final season of the Breaking Bad prequel series Better Call Saul, fans are anxious and excited to find out how. This is only one of many questions fans have about how the story will end, however. While it has already been revealed that Nacho is dead, fans are curious about what will happen to Kim and why she isn't seen or spoken of in Breaking Bad.

Meanwhile, the Gene flash-forward scenes, which tell the story of where Jimmy is after the events in Breaking Bad, needs to be wrapped up somehow too. How does Reddit think the tale will end?

Gene Turns Himself In

Redditor u/False-Parking-1663 guesses that the ending for Gene might see him turn himself in, worried that a life on the run with a $5 million bounty on his head just isn't worth it. There are already reveals about future Gene in the flash-forwards on Better Call Saul, and most point to him living a very lonely and unhappy life.

They suggest that, while in prison, Jimmy begins to run cons from behind bars, thus living the same way locked up as he did in the real world. This also means he'll continue to get away with things. "I can imagine him being maybe afraid at first," they say, "but then using his lawyer skills, he becomes slipping Jimmy again."

Jimmy Sacrifices Himself To Save Kim

In the same thread, Redditor yellow-esteem comments that they think Jimmy might still actually be in contact with Kim, who might be on the run or in trouble in some way. And so, he will turn himself in to help Kim, perhaps giving her a lighter sentence for a crime she might be convicted of. They say that Saul hurting his own life to help Kim has been an "ongoing theme of the show."

They note that through the series, Jimmy always seems to try and do things to protect Kim, and they think he might do one last thing as Gene to help her get out of a jam.

Jimmy Has A Happy Ending With Kim

In an Ending Theory thread by ufalcotas, Redditor DrugLordoftheRings has a detailed theory whereby Gene, ready to end his own life, starts to see a woman walking towards him who is revealed to be Kim.

The scene fast forwards a decade where Saul and Kim are celebrating Christmas with their kids: indeed, Saul and Kim ending up together is one of the things Reddit fans want to see in Better Call Saul's finale. There's a knock at the door and when Saul opens it, "all we see is his expression of absolute shock." But the show ends there and fans never get to see who is at the door and what it all means. But the implication is that he is in trouble.

Kim Will Die Protecting Jimmy

In A Reddit thread started by u/aaaaaannnddddyyyyy, Redditor DougieJones64 predicts that Kim will "die protecting Saul." Another Redditor, Impossible_Mood5047 chimes in that it may actually be Mike who is forced to kill Kim. He hides this bit of information from Saul, and Saul clearly never finds out since both appear working together in Breaking Bad.

Their theory is that Kim sides with Lalo while Jimmy sides with Gus and the others, which puts Mike in a precarious position.

Gus And Mike Die?

Twisting the concept of the show, a thread by u/LeCubehead posits an interesting theory whereby Saul/Jimmy has been looking at a reality where he "has [made] different decisions and never meets Walt." The idea is that the ending "breaks free of the linear narrative that we expect."

Their theory, then, would see Gus and/or Mike die. It's puzzling since both are very much alive during Breaking Bad, which occurs in a timeline after Better Call Saul. It's an unlikely ending, but the Redditor believes this would "defy our preconceptions of what can happen."

Jimmy Will Meet Walt At The Car Wash

Walt washes Chad's car at A1A car wash on Breaking Bad

One of the biggest questions about the final season of Better Call Saul is how the Walt and Jesse cameos will work and in what context they will appear. In the Official Prediction Thread v5 by u/RainbowDiamond, Redditor kgm2s-2 thinks that it will be a very simple scene. Jimmy will take his car into the car wash and is preoccupied on a phone call while it is being taken care of.

As he chats, fans see Walter White scrubbing Jimmy's car in the background, after which Walter simply hands the keys to him and says "Have a nice day!" This would make sense, as it would be around this time that Walt might have just gotten his cancer diagnosis and began secretly cooking with Jesse but was still employed at the car wash.

Jimmy And Howard Will Become Friends

Howard hugs Jimmy in Better Call Saul

While there are plenty of theories that predict Howard will die before the end, in the same Official Prediction Thread v5 chat, Redditor ianto_harkness thinks things will actually go the other way for him.

Jimmy will feel bad after Kim does something especially horrible to Howard and he will help Howard get out of it. Howard will give Jimmy one of his shirts as a thank you, and this will explain why Saul wears collar pins in Breaking Bad: "to remember Howard's friendship," they suggest.

Howard Is Killed

As noted, the more popular opinion about Howard's fate is that, in his efforts to take down Jimmy, he gets caught up with the cartel and is killed. This theory is discussed in a Better Call Saul Season 6 Final Predictions Thread by u/SeanyLew38 by several Redditors, including Mindless_Sherbert who guesses that when Howard "retaliates," he "gets himself killed by the cartel in the process."

Redditor CommisionerQ agrees, adding that it looks like "if Howard didn't stop investigating Jimmy, he might die." While Howard might be considered one of the biggest villains on Better Call Saul, however, some fans have a soft spot for him.

Jesse Is Kim's Client

Jesse in his car in Breaking Bad

Along with Walter White, it has been confirmed that Jesse will appear in Better Call Saul. Naturally, fans are curious as to how this will occur and how the two worlds will intersect. In a Reddit thread called Jesse Theory by u/NoOutlandishness4100, they have an interesting idea. They reference how Kim mentioned defending a "kid who was driving his rich friend's car when his friend robbed a liquor store."

It's possible this kid could be a friend of Jesse's given that Jesse's family appeared to be financially sound (and might have appeared wealthy from the perspective of a kid who was poor). Thus, Jesse could appear in court trying to defend the fact that he had nothing to do with the robbery. In the same thread, Redditor Baelzebubba thinks the theory tracks but that it might be another of Kim's cases, including one she mentioned about a "guy kicked out for smoking a joint." Whatever the case, Jesse may never actually cross paths with Saul but only ever be seen in scenes with Kim.

It Will End Where Breaking Bad Begins

Saul and Walter White face to face in a scene from Breaking Bad, Saul's billboard in the background.

A very logical theory, though it doesn't provide closure for Gene, is that the show will end at the moment where Saul first appears on Breaking Bad. It's one of the many scenes from Breaking Bad that Better Call Saul could revisit. In a Reddit thread called Better Call Saul Fan Theory by u/JonathanL72, they predict that Jimmy will be ambushed and kidnapped after leaving his office one day and taken out to the desert.

There, he will beg for mercy, just as he did on Breaking Bad, ratting out Nacho only to see that the masked men are actually Walt and Jesse. "Cue the black screen, it's a cliffhanger ending," they predict. The theory is from several years ago, but it's a distinct possibility to be the ending for the Jimmy/Saul timeline, although not necessarily for the Gene timeline.
