E3 2021 started its second day with the highly anticipated Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. Bethesda executive Pete Hines was joined by Xbox executives Todd Howard, Sarah Bond and Phil Spencer. The 90 minute showcase was non-stop announcements of game updates, initiatives and, of course, new game reveals.

Ahead of the showcase, Xbox and Bethesda released a save-the-date image prominently featuring Master Chief and other Halo characters, leading fans to believe announcements about Halo Infinite were upcoming from Xbox. More subtly, the image showed a planet resembling the Starfield logo. Not much has been revealed about the game since its announcement at E3 2018, but fans were excited to learn more about Bethesda's first original IP in 25 years.

Bethesda's portion of the event did not disappoint. Hines announced 10 new Bethesda games would be coming to Xbox Game Pass, including Doom, Fallout 3, The Evil Within 2 and Rage. He also announced celebration plans for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim's 10th anniversary, coming Nov. 11. During the showcase, Bethesda gave updates on game upgrades for next-generation consoles and PC, but its biggest reveals came with trailers, release dates and its second new IP. E3 2021: Bethesda Reveals Starfield Release Date

Starfield got a long-awaited release date, officially slated for a Nov. 11, 2022. A new trailer for the highly-anticipated open-world space epic kicked off the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. In it, fans got a glimpse of the technology, spaceships and open-world galaxies that await players. The game will be an Xbox exclusive, available on Xbox Game Pass on day one launch.

E3 2021: Bethesda Announces Redfall

Spencer wrapped the showcase by announcing Redfall, a brand new Bethesda IP. The world premiere cinematic trailer followed the announcement, showing a strange, futuristic world falling prey to vampire like creatures. Showcasing new technology and gameplay, Bethesda invites players to join the adventure and "find out how the characters got into this $%*&.Redfall is an open-world immersive shooter which can be played single or multiplayer. Slated for a Summer 2022, the game will be an Xbox exclusive and will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.

E3 2021: Bethesda's Fallout 76 Gets an Update

One of the other big announcements during Bethesda's portion of the showcase was a big look at Fallout 76's newest update, Steel Reign. Steel Reign is an adventure in which players assist the Brotherhood of Steel against a new threat. Also coming to Fallout 76 is Expeditions: The Pitt, which takes players to the ruins of Pittsburgh to fight new monstrosities and appears to be a return to The Pitt DLC area seen in Fallout 3. Steel Reign is a free update for all Fallout 76 players, and is coming July 7.
