A talented graphic designer shared their custom Bethesda Gamertag picture, which is perfect for fans waiting on the long-awaited Elder Scrolls 6. It has been over a decade since Bethesda launched Skyrim, the fifth mainline installment to The Elder Scrolls franchise. That said, it may still be a long time before fans receive the next game in the series. Bethesda did confirm The Elder Scrolls 6 back in 2018 - alongside its first Starfield announcement – however, the developers still haven’t set an official launch date. Some have speculated that The Elder Scrolls 6 is years away, as rumors indicate the game could still be in pre-production. It is even believed that Fallout 5 could arrive before Elder Scrolls 6.
Elder Scrolls fans have been rewarded for their patience, as Bethesda and ZeniMax studios continue to release additional content set in Tamriel. Last year, Bethesda released Skyrim Anniversary Edition, which added a plethora of new content to the original game. It combined previous DLC and creation club experiences with new features like fishing. Partner studio ZeniMax has also kept Tamriel alive, with consistent expansions to The Elder Scrolls Online. The recent Legacy of the Bretons year-long adventure introduces players to High Isle, and previous ESO DLC has brought players to locations unexplored in past Elder Scrolls games. Bethesda has also been hard at work on Starfield, a sci-fi open-world RPG set in space, which is set to launch in November 2022. The developer’s new IP will bring players to the cosmos and is said to have massive improvements over previous Bethesda titles. The developers even claimed that Starfield’s persuasion system is better than Oblivion’s wheel.

The image is of Elder Scrolls’ signature Ouroboros ring encapsulating Xbox’s logo. The ring has a solid gold tint, a variation on ESO’s silver logo. Also inside the Ouroboros are two dragon wings and what seems like a dragon egg. The Xbox logo is covered in scales, reminiscent of the franchise’s menacing creatures. The photographer and graphic designer explained that the “Elder Scrolls, Xbox Gamertag/Profile Picture” is available for anyone to use.
While not a lot is known about The Elder Scrolls 6, Bethesda has dropped some teases as to what fans can expect. During its announcement at E3 2018, Bethesda revealed a brief teaser trailer that provided some hints as to The Elder Scrolls 6’s setting. In-depth analyses of the trailer point to the game taking players back to High Rock and Hammerfell, since the landscape and architecture showcased in the trailer match that of both those provinces. Todd Howard has also confirmed that The Elder Scrolls 6 is being built in the Creation Engine 2, which will likely expand what Bethesda can do with the game.
While the wait has been long, it’s important to remember that because of the extended sabbatical, Bethesda has had over a decade of experience to aid the team in The Elder Scrolls 6’s development. By the time the game comes out, Bethesda will have had practice building Starfield in the Creation Engine 2, which means the team will have a better grasp on the engine. Also, considering Fallout 76’s many controversies, it’s likely Bethesda has learned from its pitfalls and can strive to make the best Elder Scrolls 6 possible.
