A new Princess Zelda cosplay seems to have stepped straight out of the world of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. As a veritable icon in video games, Zelda has naturally been the focus of countless cosplays. These cosplays can range from simple to elaborate in their construction, depending on both the skill of the creator and the version of Zelda in question.

Reddit user angielic- has recently revealed a beautiful rendition of Twilight Princess’ Zelda, made with fabric printed with intricate designs, which has earned over 1.5 thousand upvotes. The full-length gown also includes Zelda’s armored shoulder pads with matching golden regalia.

Also seen on her Instagram, it is clear that this cosplay of Princess Zelda’s royal gown is incredibly precise. All the embellishments of the dress are a perfect match for the original’s embroidery, with every minor detail being faithfully recreated. Although various Princess Zeldas' have worn many different styles over the years, the dress featured in Twilight Princess is perhaps one of the most elaborate, making it a striking choice for any cosplayer.

Zelda Cosplay’s Dress Features Beautiful Details

Princess Zelda from Twilight Princess is posed in front of a war-torn Hyrule Castle.

Cosplay can be a difficult art, particularly when the appearance of a character incorporates materials and other design aspects that are hard to work with in reality. For example, foam is often used as a substitute for metal, as appears to be the case with the regalia of this Zelda cosplay. Zelda’s shoulder pads, although clearly evocative of the original, are certainly less ornate here, and also take a slightly different shape. However, this does not detract from the overall image; if anything, it allows the eye to be drawn more to the details of the dress, which are undoubtedly the highlight of the piece.

New Cosplay Shows Twilight Princess’ Zelda’s Best Look

Artwork of Princess Zelda made for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.

Princess Zelda technically has two outfits in Twilight Princess, a relative rarity for the wider franchise. However, Zelda’s dark cloak (worn while imprisoned in Hyrule Castle) is definitely not as visually impressive as her royal outfit, even in the HD port for Wii U. Of course, it has long been rumored that another remake of Twilight Princess is on the way, although there has been no official indication of such. But even a new port of the game could do little to improve on the detail visible in this real-life version of Zelda. It seems as if the Princess has come directly from the hallways of Hyrule Castle into reality.

This is an amazing example of cosplay and, by extension, a testament to its creator’s skill. angielic- has created a realistic portrayal of Hyrule’s princess, which is already attracting plenty of praise for the level of talent on display, and rightfully so. As with any good cosplay, the image angielic- invokes is unmistakable. Everything from the golden pattern of the gloves to the gems gleaming in the jewelry help bring The Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessZelda to life in this incredible cosplay. As such, it will be very interesting to see what the cosplayer will choose to create next.
