Fans of the Fox series and comics are excited to see the X-Men franchise finally introduced into the MCU, with Professor X leading this debut in Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness. Although he might not have had much screen-time after he was quickly killed off by Scarlet Witch, fans are not too disheartened due to the fact that the movie had confirmed that there were more universes beyond Earth-616 and Earth-838 (so it's likely that they will see another version of him again).

But could that also mean that a few other fan-favorite mutants might be appearing sooner than fans think? A lot of people are hoping so because there are quite a few characters that would perfectly fit into the MCU and the horror-esque tone it is now adopting. Who knows? Maybe they could even find a way to get the same actors to play them since they captured the characters' essences perfectly.

Deadpool

Deadpool

Deadpool made his live-action debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where he was dramatically changed, as the merc with a mouth had his mouth removed and accrued multiple powers in place of weapons. It took a couple of tries but eventually, Deadpool would be able to be the fourth-wall-breaking character that he is in the comics.

Ryan Reynolds gave the fans what they wanted in his solo movie as he killed and constantly joked about it. Deadpool was allowed to be his true self as he made fun of Fox, Green Lantern, and his old self with no mouth. Fans would love to see him in the MCU one day, arguing with some of the fans' favorite characters (like Bucky or Yelena).

Nightcrawler

Nightcrawler X-Men

Nightcrawler appeared twice in the X-Men movies, with the most accurate representation coming in X-Men 2: X Men United. Not only did the costume department manage to capture his demon tail, blue skin, and yellow eyes, but actor, Alan Cumming, also captured the essence of the character perfectly too by showing the audience that he is a kind-hearted and selfless individual.

If he was to make an appearance in the MCU, fans would be ecstatic since there are several potential storylines and plots they could go down. Since Nightcrawler did have a relationship with a variant of Scarlet Witch in another universe in the comics, maybe the writers might go down this path?

Magik

Magik Triumphant New Mutants

Despite the changes made to Magik, The New Mutants movie kept the heart of the character. Magik is no longer the sister of Colossus and no longer has the same backstory, but still has the tragedy of being robbed of her childhood.

She remains the same in the movie in her bad attitude and her being the most powerful member of the new mutants. Magik's skills also match those of the demon queen. If she were ever to make an appearance in the MCU, fans would love to see her battle it out with Scarlet Witch, Wong, or Doctor Strange.

Professor X

Professor X in X-Men

Professor X is the leader of the X-Men and the peaceful movement for mutant equality. Founder of the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, Professor Xavier has a kind heart that looks to train mutants on how to use their powers.

Fox's portrayal of the mindreading mutant is true to the comics. James McAvoy and Sir Patrick Stewart both delivered a character that showed that Professor X would always try to make the world a better place (even if mistakes were made). If Professor X was to appear next in the MCU, Marvel Studios will have the challenge of staying true to the character but making him different from his other counterparts.

Magneto

Matching Professor X's motive for creating a better world is the ideals of the main movie antagonist, Magneto. Professor X's and Magneto's rivalry is what fueled the movie's battles between the X-Men and Brotherhood of Mutants.

The master of magnetism and father of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, Magneto still has a tragic backstory that leads his motivation to rise against oppression. He remained a calm maniacal threat and worthy opponent to Professor X and his gang of mutants. It would be interesting to see if Magneto finally makes an appearance in the MCU; with Wanda possibly being alive at the end of Multiverse of Madness, she could possibly end up meeting a variant of Magneto and bonding with his over her 'outsider' status.

X-23

The audience got to see the arrival of X-23 in the film adaptation of Old Man Logan. The film, Logan, depicts X-23 as a child cloned from Wolverine and raised as a weapon.

Despite being older in the comics, the young actor, Dafne Keen, still managed to capture the character perfectly by showing she had her father's rage. Her age made no difference as she retains the skills and two adamantium-coated claws that allow her to take down grown men. With several years having passed, it would be great to see her make a reappearance in the MCU and strike up an unlikely friendship with one of the fans' favorite heroes.

Wolverine

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in Logan

Logan is the best X-men movie ever made thanks to incredible acting by Hugh Jackman. Hugh Jackman became synonymous with the role of Wolverine by bringing the badass, heart of gold, devil may care mutant to life.

In both good and bad movies, Wolverine was a fan-favorite character as he would slash through enemies and always have his allies back. The only thing Fox got wrong about the character is that he is 5 ft. 3 in the comics, but that was something fans were willing to overlook given the amazing job that Jackman was putting in. Hopefully, he will be open to making a cameo in the MCU, even if it is just a five-second appearance of him in the background.

Gambit

X-Men Gambit

Fans never got to see Fox's planned solo movie starring Channing Tatum as Gambit. However, comfort can be found in seeing Taylor Kitsch playing the New Orleans native. It was brief, with the character only having a minor role (but it was enough to steal the show).

The scene within X-Men Origins: Wolverine showed Gambit with his signature cards and staff playing out his love-hate relationship with Wolverine. His past with Mister Sinister was referenced and his eyes turned red when he charged up his cards, turning them into explosive weapons. It was a brief appearance, but his charm and charisma got fans wanting more (which might be possible now that the multiverse is now open).
