This 2019 Netflix Original is one of the streaming platform's snowiest movies. Joan Cusack opens with the perfect narration for the season:  "A little bit of snow can make a big difference, even if you don't know it yet...Snow can change the way you look at the world or hide the things that are right in front of you. But above all, snow has the power to bring us together."

Let it Snow is composed of multiple interwoven stories of high school students in the Midwest. It's definitely intended for a more mature audience, but the movie offers a compelling tale of teen friendship and romance.

Snowglobe is a 2007 Christmas movie that goes heavy on the snow. Christina Milian plays Angela, a young woman who is tired of her family butting into her life. She is enamored with the perfection she sees inside her snow globe. Angela is magically transported into the world of the snow globe, and she thinks it's exactly what she needs until it's not.

In 2005, Ice Princess was a dream come true for fans of Disney and ice skating. The movie stars Michelle Trachtenberg as Casey Carlyle, a high school physics genius on the fast track to Harvard. Casey undertakes a big physics project in which she examines figure skaters' patterns and seeks to use equations to help them improve their precision.

Through her project, Casey's own passion for ice skating is amplified. To her academic mother's dismay, Casey pursues a real figure skating career with a strict coach (Kim Cattrall) and some intense skaters (including Hayden Panettiere). Casey makes some time for a new romance, but she is totally in love with her wintry sport. Fans of this movie probably also saw the DCOM Go Figure (2005).

Godmothered (2020) is a snowy fairytale that takes a refreshing look at the fairy godmother figure from Cinderella. Jillian Bell plays Eleanor Bloomingbottom, a fairy godmother in danger of becoming a tooth fairy. To secure her dream job, Eleanor must help a struggling single mother named Mackenzie Walsh (Isla Fisher).

Eleanor intrudes on Mackenzie's busy life in Boston, but the magical helper soon becomes a valuable part of the Walsh family. The snowy scenes of this holiday film are incredible, and it's one of the best Disney+ originals to date.

Johnny Tsunami: Disney+ (6.3)

Of all the early Disney Channel Original MoviesJohnny Tsunami is one of the finest. Brandon Baker plays Johnny Kapahala, a kid who is forced to leave his Hawaiian home for the frigid weather of Vermont.

The film is named for Johnny's wise grandfather, whom Johnny Kapahala runs to when things get really difficult. Johnny struggles to fit in at his new school, but he finds a true friend in Sam Sterling, played by the late Lee Thompson Young. Kirsten Storms, who is famous for the Zenon movies, is also in this DCOM. With snowboarding and surfing, it's an all-in-one treasure.

Holiday In Handcuffs: Hulu With Live TV (6.3)

Holiday in Handcuffs is a 2007 adventure rom-com starring Melissa Joan Hart and Mario Lopez. This dream team has a rocky start. Melissa's character, Trudie, is stuck in a bind when her boyfriend dumps her right before Christmas. Trudie kidnaps David (Mario Lopez) and forces him to act as though he is her boyfriend.

This movie is quickly becoming a modern holiday classic, and the snow is a huge part of the story. Trudie's family gathering is in a remote cabin where everyone can enjoy their favorite winter games. As David and Trudie start to genuinely fall in love, David puts together a breathtaking winter scene in which Trudie shows off her ice skating skills. The movie is also on the Freeform app.

Cool Runnings: Disney+ (7.0)

Cool Runnings is one of the most creative sports movies of the 1990s. A Jamaican bobsled team gets the chance to compete in the Winter Olympics, but they have to leave the warmth of home and learn the ropes of Calgary.

A former slider named Irv helps get the team in shape, but he must get over his complicated past with the sport.

Frozen is easily Disney's best-animated movie for the wintertime. The story of Anna (Kristen Bell) and Elsa (Idina Menzel) endures because it focuses on the power of sisterhood. Breaking an icy spell is no small task, but the characters and scenes of Frozen make it a genuine wintry dream.

"White Christmas" is the famous song that connects the winter season with Christmastime. The famed Vermont singers are played by Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Vera-Ellen, and Danny Kaye.

They summon the snow to help General Waverly (Dean Jagger) with his failing inn. The famous song predates its eponymous 1954 movie; Irving Berlin actually wrote "White Christmas" for another wintry classic, Holiday Inn (1942).
