Vaporeon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is one of the best Water-type Pokémon used for Tera Raids. With a high base special attack and defense, Vaporeon can be used not only as a support Pokémon but also as a main damage dealer. Additionally, Eevee evolutions this generation have access to the move Stored Power, which Vaporeon excels at using since it has many different stat-boosting moves. Paired with the correct Nature and Water Absorb ability, Vaporeon can take down many different types of foes.

To get a Vaporeon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, trainers can find it in the wild or evolve it from Eevee. Thankfully, Vaporeon lives in many parts of Paldea and is easy to encounter using a Water-type Encounter Sandwich Recipe in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Places trainers have an easier time looking for it are Casseroya Lake, South Province (Area Six), Glasedeo Mountain, North Provinces (Areas 1, 2, and 3), Tagtree Thicket, and East Province (Area 1). Alternatively, find or buy a Water Stone from Delibird Presents and after catching or hatching an Eevee, give the Water Stone to it in the bag and watch it evolve.

Hyper Training NPC and Map Location in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

According to the Pokémon Database, Vaporeon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet boasts a base HP of 130 points and a Special Attack of 110 points. However, Every Eevee Evolution has a unique highest base stat, and Vaporeon is recommended for battle against Pokémon with weaker Special Defense. Therefore, these bases should be built on maxing out HP and Special Attack with 252 Effort Value points. Hyper Training these stat values are also recommended in the respective stats listed. To further maximize Vaporeon's Special Attack, give it a Modest Nature Mint which increases its Special Attack while decreasing physical Attack that is not used on Vaporeon.

How to change a Pokémon's Tera Type in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The common ability Water Absorb succeeds the most on Vaporeon, and it is a cheap option since it doesn't need an Ability Patch in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Water Absorb gives Vaporeon immunity to any Water-type moves reverting the damage done to it back into its HP. Furthermore, giving Ground-Tera Type to Vaporeon gets rid of 2 weaknesses: Electric- and Water-type moves. The versatile move pool that Vaporeon is given is useful depending on the set a trainer is going for. For a damage-dealing set, Calm Mind, Stored Power, Wish, and Tera Blast is one option. Another option for assisting other players is Wish, Helping Hand, Chilling Water, and Acid Armor.

Turn by Turn During the Raid

Slowking faces a Dragonite in a Pokemon Scarlet Violet Tera Raid.

On turn 1 of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid that Vaporeon is in, set up by using the move Calm Mind. On turns 2 and 3, like the Slowbro Tera Raid Build, stocking up Calm Minds and then blasting a Stored Power is the common strategy. However, alternatively, once Vaporeon has charged up its Tera Orb, using Tera Blast Ground- can deal serious damage. Additionally, if Vaporeon is beginning to dip lower in HP and no Water-type move is hitting it, using Wish gives it back half its HP on the following turn. As always, when using Vaporeon or Water-type moves, remember the opponent's original typing and abilities before battling.
