Chucky is a doll possessed by the soul of a serial killer, making his first kill in the 1988 film, Child's Play. There have, so far, been eight films featuring the demonic doll. Horror and humor have been a big part of this series since the original film, and that mixture helped make the character a horror icon.

Kolchak: The Night Stalker is a show starring Darren McGavin and aired for one season on ABC. It followed the adventures of Carl Kolchak, investigative reporter of the Independent News Service. Kolchak has a way of attracting trouble, usually supernatural, but no one believes him or his stories.

Kolchak faces monsters that both thrill and frighten the viewer and can be cheesy, at times, much like Chucky and the Child's Play movies.
