TV couples. We have our favorites. We even have our favorites out of the two people in said couple. Sometimes we like the husband or wife just a bit more, or sometimes we like them equally. Preferences differ from couple to couple. We love them in dramas, sitcoms, action/adventures, and just about any other genre.
We relate to them on certain levels, we want to be them, and we even learn from their mistakes. We laugh at their stupid fights, smile when they make-up, and admire (or judge) the way they get through hard times. It's in our nature to keep up with them. That said, here are the 10 best TV couples of the past decade, ranked.
Molly & Mike (Mike & Molly)
Mike, a Chicago police officer, and Molly, a fourth-grade teacher (later writer) are one of the cutest sitcom couples to emerge from the 2010s. Both struggle with their weight and healthier diets but find comfort in one another.
Molly helps Mike become more independent from his mother overtime, and Mike returns the favor by helping Molly with her own overwhelming and dysfunctional family. We see them date and later marry, having all kinds of zany misadventures that keep us laughing to this day.
Claire & Phil (Modern Family)
Claire is more of the take-charge, damage control type while Phil is more gentle and laidback. Claire sometimes gets annoyed with Phil due to some of his eccentricities, but she's a little too attracted to death and gore, so who is she to judge?
Granted, Phil adores his wife and holds her on a high pedestal, and Claire loves him in return, so obviously their chemistry works. They're a good parenting team and they're also best friends, which is an important foundation when it comes to relationships.
Sarah & Hank (Parenthood)
Parenthood was a show about family, life, and all that comes with it. Sarah struggled the most with relationships out of the four Braverman children, so watching Sarah finally get her happy ending with Hank in the series finale as they married was a special moment.
It's ironic, as Hank initially didn't like Sarah, and then they struggled further because of Sarah's difficulty with getting over her former boyfriend. However, they managed to work through it all and became a great team, with Hank bonding with Sarah's kids and Sarah doing the same with Hank's daughter in the process.
Melinda & Jim (Ghost Whisperer)
Okay, so Ghost Whisperer ended in 2010, but it ended on a good note, potentially as an inspiration for other 2010s TV couples. Jim and Melinda survived everything together. Jim had blind faith in Melinda's abilities and was always there for her.
The two were supportive and loving of one another, rarely having any fights. They were a young and happy couple. They even managed to survive death itself when Jim died and later became "Sam" so he could return to Melinda. If that's not true and everlasting love, we don't know what is.
Jessica & Louis (Fresh Off The Boat)
Jessica is very competitive and focused, logic and common sense always by her side. Her husband Louis is more of a dreamer, hence their move from Washington DC to Orlando to open a Western-themed steakhouse.
Louis embraces life in America while Jessica tries to keep a connection to their heritage. It seems the two would clash, and they have, but overall they make a great couple. If you want nice, you go to Louis, if you want scary and intimidating, you go to Jessica.
Rebecca & Jack (This Is Us)
Jack and Rebecca Pearson have been one of TV's favorite couples since their first appearance in 2016. Undoubtedly, it's because of Jack (he tends to be the favorite out of the two). He's a wonderful father and husband, always putting his family first and supporting them above all.
Jack and Rebecca's love is also strong and pure, their love for each other and their children a significant part of This Is Us. The Pearsons are one of those couples many of us strive to be.
Titus & Mikey (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt)
These two didn't find lasting happiness until the series finale, but we're so glad they got it. Not only did Titus get to live out his dream on Broadway, but Mikey ditched his wedding to come to the show, where they expressed their love for one another and wound up kissing.
We see that four years later the two are married and have two adopted children. Their journey wasn't always easy, as they suffered a break-up and Mikey nearly married another. Going back and watching their relationship develop is worth binge-watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Frankie & Mike (The Middle)
The Middle follows the lives of suburban couple Frankie and Mike Heck while raising their three kids in Indiana. They don't have much, but they do have each other, which is often their consolation.
Frankie and Mike aren't always on the same page, as Frankie often finds herself needing a change or getting sick of their children's attitudes, and Mike doesn't always get it. Though, when it comes down to it, Mike loves her and supports her where he can, and she does the same for him.
Betty & Jughead (Riverdale)
Riverdale's favorite couple is no doubt these two lovebirds. Though complete opposites, the two work well together. They both love to investigate and write, and they help each other through hard times.
Given Riverdale's tendency to hash out the angst and provide the drama, that's a big deal. Their relationship has had its ups and downs, but for the most part, we love these two together and wish them the utmost happiness.
Moira & Johnny (Schitt's Creek)
This mismatched pair has brought us many laughs over the years. Moira is theatrical in nature, her dramatic flair one of her personal calling cards. Johnny helps bring her back down to Earth, though he too has his own occasional freak-outs.
Despite their flaws, the two remain loyal and devoted to one another, something that's very important given their unfortunate living situation. Moira never quite accepts Schitt's Creek the way that her husband does, but at least she has him by her side to help her through.
