While the massive battles from the likes of Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame are rightfully epic and entertaining, for many fans, what makes She-Hulk: Attorney at Law so enticing are the lower stakes. And soon, Daredevil will appear to show the ingenuity of street-level heroism that too few superheroes have experienced, aside from Hawkeye and Echo.

After the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the webbed warrior seems to be returning to his traditional portrayal as a street-level hero, joining Clint Barton, Kate Bishop, Echo, and now Daredevil. Hopefully, more former denizens of Netflix make their triumphant return to add to this roster – such as Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Punisher, and more. In the case of completely new street-level heroes, some of the coolest and best characters also deserve a shot to shine in the MCU.

Spider-Man (Miles Morales)

Miles Morales jumping from building to building

Peter Parker is a premier street-level hero, but so are all his protégés and successors, from the Scarlet Spiders to Mile Morales. Specifically, the latter is by far one of the most desired characters missing from the MCU, and such sentiments were only enhanced exponentially by the success of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. He is already linked to the MCU, having been teased in both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: No Way Home by his uncle, Aaron Davis, and Electro, respectively.

With high hopes that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will remain in the MCU – rather than crossing into the same universe as Venom and Morbius like the Vulture weirdly did – many are expecting Miles to finally come into play in Spider-Man 4, whenever and if that happens. Peter probably needs new friends now that MJ and Ned are temporarily out of commission, and there’s no one better to fill that role than Miles.

White Tiger (Hector Ayala)

White Tiger in Marvel comics

Some of the best street-level heroes are also some of the best hand-to-hand fighters, like Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Electra. One missing hero who could join their ranks is White Tiger. Hector Ayala is the first to bear that moniker, later to be followed by his niece, Angela del Toro, and younger sister, Ava Ayala. They gain their superhuman strength, dexterity, and martial arts skills thanks to special Jade Amulets.

Whether just Hector or his whole family, White Tiger(s) would be a hero worthy of helming his own Disney+ show. He could surely come into play as an ally to Daredevil or Shang-Chi in Daredevil: Born Again or Shang-Chi 2, respectively. Their inclusion would also go a long way to better Latino representation in the MCU.

Black Cat (Felicia Hardy)

Black Cat and Spider-Man in Marvel Comics

Another character Spider-Man could end up crossing paths with soon is Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat. She is one of his on-again, off-again girlfriends, but, unlike Mary Jane or Gwen Stacy, she’s got a villainous side to her. She is introduced as one of his enemies, a cat burglar following in her father’s footsteps, but through their relationship, she becomes an anti-hero.

Black Cat would be a very compelling addition to Spider-Man 4 in that she is attracted to the danger of Spider-Man, but not Peter Parker, so their relationship is always doomed. However, given her cinematic rights are held up by Sony, more likely than not, she’ll instead be part of that universe, possibly even in Madame Web.

Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew)

One more important Sony-owned hero who is more than deserving to join the MCU is Spider-Woman. Interestingly, she could still supposedly feature, as long as her origins and story aren’t linked to Spider-Man, and since it isn’t in the comics, there’s hope fans will see her soon. In fact, some theorize she’ll be introduced in Secret Invasion, being played by Emilia Clarke, as she is intrinsically linked to that storyline.

Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, is a very interesting character to consider. She is a former HYDRA agent turned Avenger, acting as everything from a street-level hero to a major global protector. She will be seen in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, being voiced by Issa Rae, but that should restrict her inclusion in the MCU.

Night Thrasher (Dwayne Taylor)

Night Thrasher is a Batman Carbon Copy

While Batman can find his contemporary from Marvel Comics in Nighthawk from the Squadron Supreme, Dwayne Taylor, aka Night Thrasher, might actually be a better comp. Dwayne is a billionaire who witnessed his parents get murdered right before his eyes in his youth and, as an adult, became a vigilante, transforming that trauma into a violent vendetta against criminals. As Night Thrasher, he wears a special suit of armor, uses billy clubs, and rides a skateboard to fight crime.

He was actually optioned to join the MCU in the ill-fated New Warriors series, but now that Disney+ is going strong, perhaps there’s hope for a new attempt. He was the team's original creator, uniting Justice, Firestar, Nova, Namorita, and Speedball, and the same could be adapted in the MCU.

Paladin

Many of the best street-level characters don’t have superpowers, and instead, they have to rely on the tech and weapons they can get their hands on. One such character is Paladin. He’s really more of an anti-hero since he’s a mercenary which means he’ll target a hero like Spider-Man if that’s what the contract says. He shares this trait with Deadpool, Solo, and Domino, to name a few.

There are some logical places he could be introduced, like Daredevil: Born Again, Captain America: New World Order, or Thunderbolts. His true identity is still a mystery in the comics, so the MCU could do something clever in introducing him.

Cloak & Dagger (Tyrone Johnson & Tandy Brown)

Cloak and Dagger looking at the front

While not typical, some street-level heroes have a mystical edge, as in the case of Cloak and Dagger. They are a pair of young heroes intrinsically linked to the duality of their powers coming from Darkforce and Lightforce, respectively. They were technically part of the MCU before Disney+ became a thing, headlining Cloak & Dagger on Freeform, but like the other Marvel Television shows, that hasn’t been incorporated into the main continuity yet.

Like the Runaways, Agents of SHIELD, and Ghost Rider, fans have theorized how Cloak and Dagger could be reincorporated into the MCU, with hope that Aubrey Joseph and Olivia Holt can stay in the roles. They could also be part of a New Warriors series or integrated as newfound allies to Spider-Man. The possibilities are plentiful.

Union Jack (Brian Falsworth)

Union Jack Marvel Comics

New York City might get most of the attention in the comics, but obviously, not all heroes are stationed there. In the UK, there’s several, including Union Jack, first introduced in 1981 as a British contemporary to Captain America. Unlike Captain Britain, Union Jack is far more grounded, relying on their natural combat skills and athleticism.

The first Union Jack, James Montgomery Falsworth, was played by JJ Feild in Captain America: The First Avenger, so they could go with his successors Brian Falsworth or Joseph Chapman instead. Brian, specifically, would be a welcome sight to many as one of Marvel’s gay heroes, and he could be retconned to be James’ grandson or great-grandson instead of his son.

Power Man (Víctor Álvarez)

Victor Alvarez Power Man Shadowland 1

The roster for the MCU’s Young Avengers has been steadily filled throughout Phase Four, yet if they’d like to draw from the Champions as they have already for Ms. Marvel and Ironheart, Víctor Álvarez would be a good choice. He is the third person to use the Power Man moniker after Luke Cage and Erik Josten. However, his powers are actually more similar to Iron Fist’s, being able to draw on chi energy to gain superstrength and dexterity.

If Luke Cage is established as part of the main MCU continuity, then Víctor is linked to it even more readily as the son of Shades, played by Theo Rossi. That would be a very interesting dynamic to explore in the MCU, so hopefully Luke Cage gets a new show like Daredevil to do so.

Tigra (Greer Grant Nelson)

Tigra holds Hawkeye in a giant fist in Marvel Comics

There are a few longtime Avengers still missing from the MCU, including Greer Tigra. She is like the Marvel equivalent to Cheetah from DC Comics, but heroic. In fact, she actually started out as a low-level crime-fighter, known as the Cat until she was mystically transformed into the Tigra, the champion of the Cat People. She is more-or-less on the edge of being a true street-level hero similar to Hawkeye or Black Widow.

Following Hawkeye and with news of a Wonder Man series, many fans are hoping for some kind of West Coast Avengers adaptation – whether truly in name or just incorporated into those shows. As such, that would be a perfect place to introduce Tigra.
