The Marvel Cinematic Universe is more than just good guys fighting bad guys with the world's safety on the line. The MCU also presents some great characters and has developed some of the best relationships in any movie franchise. These characters have grown and bonded together for well over 20 years now.

What creates a great relationship in a Marvel Comics movie are two people who stick together, fight together, and support each other. These relationships are also ones that seem natural and pure, with two great people making each other better, whether on Earth or in space and between gods, legends, and teenagers.

Steve Rogers And Peggy Carter

If there was one relationship in the MCU that stood above them all, it was the oldest one. Steve Rogers fell in love with Peggy Carter during World War II and then he ended up frozen in ice for decades. While he was gone, Peggy became a hero in her own right and then Steve returned and she was at the end of her life.

However, their love was meant to last. Steve ended up going back in time to help stop Thanos and then save the world. At that time, Steve was selfish for the first time in his life. He stayed in the past and grew old with Peggy, the one relationship that was meant to be.

Wanda Maximoff And Vision

Wanda Maximoff loved the Vision so much that she did the unthinkable. She brainwashed an entire town of people and brought Vision back to life after Thanos killed him. Wanda wanted to live a happy life and forced countless people to live in the delusions of her world.

It might be a bad thing, but it showed her true love for Vision. When she finally said goodbye to him, it was heartbreaking. It ended badly, but Vision and Scarlet Witch deserved to live happy together, if only for a little bit.

Peter Quill And Gamora

A lot of people have soured on Peter Quill in the MCU. It all seemed to start with his decision in Avengers: Infinity War when he ruined the heroes chance to stop Thanos and it just went downhill from there. However, at the end of the day, Peter did what he did out of love for Gamora.

Peter learned that Gamora died because of Thanos, and he reacted with anger and hurt against Thanos. Peter and Gamora seemed destined to be together, and while that is now questionable thanks to the variant Gamora, it was still a great relationship.

Peter Parker And MJ

Peter Parker started out his life in the Marvel Cinematic Universe trying to date Liz Toomes. That didn't work out, thanks to her dad being none other than The Vulture. Most fans thought Peter would end up with MJ, since she shared the name of his greatest love from the comics.

They weren't the same person, but the relationship between Peter and MJ was one of the best in the MCU because it was so pure. This went from puppy love to two people willing to fight out of their weight class to protect each other.

Tony Stark And Pepper Potts

Tony Stark and Pepper Potts had a long road to Avengers: Endgame. In the beginning, Pepper was an employee who was there to help keep Tony in line and make sure that he didn't screw up his business. He was a womanizer and dated a lot of people.

However, little by little, Tony realized that he loved Pepper. By the time that Thanos snapped out half the universe, Tony and Pepper got married and had a baby. It was the deepest relationship in the MCU and one that had a perfect beginning and a tragic ending.

Clint Barton And Laura Barton

The one relationship that the MCU not only didn't reveal anything about, but somehow still made vitally important was Clint Barton and his wife Laura. No one even knew that Clint was married until the Avengers needed a place to hide and ended up at his farm with his wife and kids.

However, their relationship jumped form mysterious to legendary in the Disney+ series Hawkeye. Laura not only knew that Hawkeye had to do things that sent him away from his family, but she supported him. The fact that she is likely Mockingbird from the comics makes the relationship even better.

Gilgamesh And Thena

Not all relationships are about romance. The best relationship in the Eternals movie was one that was all about friendship. The relationship between Gilgamesh and Thena was deeper and more beautiful than any romantic relationship in the MCU.

Gilgamesh truly cared about Thena and gave his life to protect her. Thena trusted Gilgamesh with her life and these two were closer than friends. It was one of the best things about the newest Marvel franchise.

Hank Pym And Janet Van Dyne

Hank Pym lost the love of his life for a very long time, and it destroyed him mentally. Hank buried himself in his research and he did everything he could to stand behind and protect his daughter from all dangers, often to her detriment.

However, when Hank was able to go into the Quantum Realm and find his wife, it was a beautiful thing. Hank saving Janet and seeing them reunited showed that even decades couldn't break the love between these two heroes.

Sersi And Dane Whitman

The relationship between Dane Whitman and Sersi wasn't delved into as deeply as others, but that makes sense because it was the first movie for the Eternals. However, anyone who reads comics knows how important Dane and Sersi are to each other and the world of Marvel in general.

By the end, it looked like Dane and Sersi would move closer to their relationship in the comics before Sersi was abducted. Dane should become Black Knight sooner rather than later and this is one relationship in the MCU that fans should keep an eye on.

Shang-Chi And Katy

One of the best relationships in the MCU is one of friendship. One thing that Shang-Chi could have done was quickly make Shang-Chi and Katy romantic partners. What the MCU did instead was even better, since the movie kept these two as close friends and allies.

Shang-Chi and Katy are best friends, and as best friends, they fought hard to protect each other and she stood by his side in the face of great evil. The fact they are best friends make Shang-Chi and Katy's relationship one of the best in the MCU.
