Scooby-Doo continues to soar in pop culture with the recent release of Scoob!A new generation of audiences are discovering Scooby and the gang, and older generations are again becoming invested in the beloved show from their childhoods. Scooby and the gang have been around for over fifty years now; their legacy began with the original show, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!.

The show contained plenty of mysteries and traps that went haywire, plus well-known catchphrases like "Zoinks!" and "Jinkies!", but there were also plenty of memorable and comedic quotes to take away, too.

"But Don't Worry, I Got A Hot Idea!"

A hot idea, maybe, but not necessarily a hot solution. In "Scooby's Night With a Frozen Fright", Velma's idea to get back to shore with Shaggy and Scooby has to do with riding a giant ice cube while Shaggy paddles. It had to be a cold ride, and while Velma chides Shaggy about it not being a time to get cold feet, Shaggy replies it isn't cold feet he's worried about. Audiences surely concur with that statement. Velma's known for her inventive ideas and quick-thinking; while her solutions work, they're not always ideal.

"Danger-Prone Daphne Did It Again."

It's a recurring element in the show regarding Daphne's knack for getting into danger. Usually, she unintentionally foils a trap or somehow finds a trap door and gets separated from the gang.

Concerning this particular quote, Fred utters it to a sheepish-looking Daphne after she's accidentally ruined their original trap for capturing the Caveman. Poor Daphne doesn't mean to be danger-prone, but her friends love her anyway.

"Maybe He Went Out For The Night, Get It?"

Shaggy Rogers Scooby Doo

From the very first episode, audiences knew what to expect from the gang, and what they could look forward to, including Shaggy's corny sense of humor, which Scooby usually reciprocates. Shaggy's joke consisted of a play-on-words in his response to Fred's question as to why the suit of armor was in the driver's seat of the truck. It's a memorable yet predictable joke, but one audiences love anyway. Sometimes corny jokes are the best kinds of jokes, and Shaggy nailed it with this one.

"Oh, My Hairdo!"

Daphne Scooby Doo

Worrying about her hairdo is so Daphne. As the boat she, Fred, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby were in is broken in half and they begin to sink into the water, the thing she's most concerned about is her hairdo.

Knowing Daphne, the first thing she fixed once she got out of the water was her hair before going on to help the gang capture Redbeard the Pirate in "Go Away Ghost Ship."

"I Have To Laugh At Myself. Those Two Chickens Tricked Us!"

While Fred's explaining his plans to capture the Wax Phantom in "Don't Fool With a Phantom", Scooby and Shaggy manage to pull one over on Fred and the girls, under the guise that they have their own plan when really they intended to carry out their part in Fred's plan. Fred says the above quote and chuckles to himself, seemingly impressed with his two friends' ability to outwit them. Shaggy and Scooby have their moments, but they do end up captured unintentionally alongside the Wax Phantom in this instance.

"Like Who's Gonna Build A New Us?"

Shaggy's got a good point: since the Ghost of Zen Tuo intends to blow them to pieces in his storeroom, who's gonna build a new Scooby and Shaggy? Zen Tuo declared they'll build a new storeroom, but no one could build a new Shaggy and Scooby, though Zen Tuo isn't too concerned with that.

Luckily, Shaggy and Scooby manage to put out the fuse, escape, and free their three friends. The two lifelong pals are nothing if not resourceful and quick.

"That's The Chance I'll Have To Take"

Velma Dinley talking in Scooby-Doo

Velma's response to Shaggy's concern over whether the Phantom Shadow will capture him is kind of brutal. She insists that he be brave anyway and lead the way as they follow the phantom Shadow's footprints, and she's willing to risk the Phantom Shadow snatching him anyhow. Perhaps she was just sick of Shaggy's cowardly tendencies at that point? What does it say about her friendship with Shaggy overall? Velma will do anything to solve a mystery, so it's probably better for Shaggy to just go along with it or step away from it, depending on the chances Velma's willing to take.

"Well, That's The First Wind I Ever Heard With A Sense Of Humor."

When Shaggy's concerned about the high-pitched laugh he heard from the phantom in "Hassle in the Castle", Velma dismisses it, saying it "was probably just the wind", to which Shaggy responds with the above quote.

Perhaps a wind with a sense of humor would've been better than the spooky phantom that kept trying to scare and chase them away, appearing as though he could walk through walls, among other things. The phantom in this case was really a magician, so he definitely had a lot of tricks up his sleeve.

"Creeps And Crawls? They Sure Picked The Right Lawyers For This Job!"

Shaggy's comment in "A Night of Fright Is No Delight" is hilarious. He's not wrong. Lawyers named Creeps and Crawls to manage a haunted house? Definitely a suiting combo, especially since the two lawyers turned out to be the phantom shadows. Shaggy's observation, in the beginning, could be considered foreshadowing to a certain degree as well. With spooky names like theirs, the lawyers were bound to be up to no good.

"Zoinks! It's The Creepy Coin Collector Again!"

Scooby-Doo going against the Mummy in Scooby-Doo Where Are You

Despite being terrified, Shaggy's good at coming up with witty one-liners and nicknames in the heat of the moment. Considering the Mummy goes around uttering "coin, coin", the "creepy coin collector" is an apt nickname for him. The Mummy wasn't that into coins, as it turns out. He only wanted it to unlock an even more valuable treasure. Still, if there were ever another coin that stood to unlock another treasure, audiences can bet the Mummy would return to being that "creepy coin collector" again.
