Destiny 2 continuously gives its Guardians new gun options, and Season 19, Season of the Seraph, doesn't disappoint. Season of the Seraph runs from December 6 2022-February 28, 2023, and includes several guns that are becoming increasingly popular in the game, including the Rose Hand Cannon and the IKELOS set. However, many of the "best" primary weapons have been in play for some time, including Dead Man's Tale.
Prudence is a virtue, especially with guns, so it's all about the time and the place. However, according to Destiny Tracker, some guns are beyond that and appear to kill everyone regardless of the situation. With the highest stats for usage, kills, and headshots, Dead Man's Tale is the most popular Scout Rifle in all gameplay types after having received a buff in Season 19.

PvE
Most Destiny 2 gameplay is considered PvE. It's less sweaty than any form of PvP. There's less conflict with killing AI than killing friends.

The future version of a perfect Destiny 2 is probably just more guns, and as of January 2023, players seem to like these weapons. According to the stats, players should try getting the Dead Man's Tale, Funnelweb, and Ace of Spades.
