Pixar has become notorious for producing the highest quality animation movies, setting the bar unbelievably high for the rest of the movie industry. The company has created some amazing movies throughout its history, with many iconic characters being made along the way, these movies will stand the test of time.

However, choosing the best Pixar movie isn't an easy thing to do considering how strong the library of movies are.

Toy Story 4 - 84 (2019)

Many people were cautious when Toy Story 4 was originally announced, mainly because the franchise had seemingly been wrapped up as a perfect trilogy. However, Pixar once again knocked it out of the park with this movie with another incredibly strong movie.

Pixar brought all the characters people know and love, including bringing back Bo Peep, but also added in several fantastic new characters. The story was just as emotional as is always the case with this franchise, but brought tons of humor and fun as well, making for another fantastic movie.

Up - 88 (2009)

Up is a breathtaking movie that manages to have audiences in floods of tears within the first few minutes without a word ever being uttered. That's the beauty of animation and how good this movie is, but from that point on, it becomes an uplifting and comedic film that is full of charm and wit.

This film is beautifully written and features some incredible characters with major personalities. That's why this movie has become one of Pixar's greatest and has continued to be a beloved film ever since.

Toy Story 2 - 88 (1999)

Another movie from the Toy Story franchise makes the top 10, which is unsurprisingly going to become a theme throughout this list. The second instalment in this beloved fun of movies saw Woody's past become more detailed and saw Jessie, Stinky Pete, and Bullseye join the story.

The additional characters were a ton of fun here and it allowed for two separate adventures to take place. One with Woody and the emotions that came with that and the other being Buzz and the rest of the gang as they try to rescue him.

The Incredibles - 90 (2004)

The Incredibles is not only one of the greatest Pixar movies of all time, but it is also one of the best superhero movies ever. This film brings together several fantastic powers but doesn't just rely on them to tell the story, as the characters all have fantastic personalities and that is where the emotional connections begin.

The family aspect of this movie is what is truly special about it though. The dynamic between them makes them feel like just an ordinary family, which is why they're easy to relate with. Seeing how they deal with powers is certainly interesting and that only adds to the excitement.

Finding Nemo - 90 (2003)

Finding Nemo is another truly emotional Pixar movie that is gripping and adventurous all while providing great life lessons. It has a fantastic variety of characters with Dory, in particular, being a scene-stealer throughout the movie with her brilliant comedic moments.

The adventure aspect of the film is what really makes this a great one though. Seeing Marlin and Dory attempt to cross the ocean in order to find Nemo is amazing to watch, encountering plenty of obstacles along the way.

Toy Story 3 - 92 (2010)

Toy Story 3 is one of the most emotional movies that Pixar ever created, bringing an end to the toys journey with Andy, which is something that brought tears to many eyes. However, aside from that aspect, the entire film is brilliant with the daycare aspect being a really fun twist.

It meant that tons of new characters were able to be added to the Toy Story world and that was a great decision by Pixar. The twist of having Lotso turn into the villain was also really well done here, creating a fantastic movie.

Inside Out - 94 (2015)

Inside Out was another brilliant move that Pixar created which touches on some real adult topics, doing so in a fun and child-friendly manner. The movie focuses on the complex emotions of a human child, the voices inside somebodies head, creating fun characters out of them.

Every emotion has its own unique personality which follows fun stereotypes while also explaining the complex situation of how things constantly change for children. It showcases Riley having to deal with lots of different situations and does so with a great balance of story inside her head and in reality, transitioning between them perfectly.

Toy Story - 95 (1995)

Toy Story is the original Pixar movie, and it started things out well for the studio, with this movie still standing up just as strong today. For many, this is the greatest animated movie of all time and it is very easy to see why. It has a brilliant story about friendship and not worrying about things.

The characters in this movie really are fantastic here, which is what makes it stand out. There's a great variety of personalities and having humor and emotion all blend together set the tone for what Pixar would become.

WALL-E - 95 (2008)

WALL-E is a really unique movie considering the fact that the lead character only has limited communication. Instead, the film relies upon emoting from a robot to carry the story, and somehow, the animation managed to pull this off brilliantly.

The film has everything anyone could want with adventure, romance, and a real-life message. It showcases how big corporations can easily take over, proving that the easiest option isn't always the best and it does so all while still being entertaining to a younger audience.

Ratatouille - 96 (2007)

When it comes to the best Pixar movie according to Metacritic, it is Ratatouille which takes the top spot, which is certainly well deserved. This film is beautiful to look at with some stunning animation of both Paris and the food section of the movie.

It brings an unlikely duo together with a human and a rat working together to improve both of their lives. It teaches to not judge a book by its cover and shows to never give up on a dream. The film has some great comedy and a really strong plot to go along with it, making it a really fantastic film.
