With 64 villagers featuring the "peppy" personality type as of the most recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons update, fans of the franchise have plenty of choices for their personal favorites. However, a handful of peppy villagers clearly stand out above the rest.
Animal Crossing's peppy villagers are known as the female equivalent of villagers with the "jock" personality type, offering frequent and energetic conversations to both the player and other villagers. While snooty or cranky villagers may be easily overwhelmed by the intensity of peppy villagers, the right peppy villager can bring plenty of life to any player's island community.
Audie
Animal Crossing fans looking to add a wolf villager to their island may struggle to find a candidate that doesn't feature the "cranky," "snooty," or "smug" personality types. Audie, however, is one of three wolf villagers featuring a personality type outside of these more common wolf personalities.
One glance at Audie's bright coloring and summery fashion sense should serve as a clear indication of this wolf's peppy personality. Players looking to add a brightly colored villager with an equally bright personality to their island paradise should look no further than Audie.
Bluebear
Seeing as Bluebear's favorite saying is "candy makes the world go 'round," it should come as no surprise that this sugar-addicted cub villager features the peppy personality type.
A letter obtained through Bluebear's Japanese e-Reader card goes so far as to explain that her fur changed from a light brown to a light blue because she drank too much Ramune and cream soda. Animal Crossing players looking to inject sugar rush levels of energy into their island community will find exactly what they're looking for in this adorable cub.
Apple
While peppy villagers are typically friendly, many villagers with this personality type can also be a bit overbearing or selfish. Apple, however, is an incredibly sweet hamster villager. According to Apple's Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp profile, she actually "loves to share so much, in fact, she's never eaten more than half a sandwich at a time."
Apple's sweet demeanor combined with her 'play' hobby may lead players to draw more similarities between this villager and villagers with the "lazy" personality type than other peppy villagers. Therefore, players with a fondness for lazy villagers looking to expand their community may find that Apple is a fantastic addition to their otherwise relaxed island.
Bella
More often than not, Animal Crossing's peppy villagers are decorated in bright colors and cute pastels. This makes sense, seeing as the peppy personality type offers plenty of sunshine for any island community. However, players looking for a more muted color palette or villagers with edgier interests may struggle to find a peppy villager matching their aesthetic.
Fortunately, these players are not hopeless in their pursuit of a pop-punk princess for their island. Bella is an adorable mouse villager with an edgy aesthetic and a peppy personality just waiting to be taken home to her pop-punk paradise.
Cookie
Cookie is a perfectly pink dog villager featuring a peppy personality and beautiful doe-eyes. Cookie's fashion hobby is immediately evident from the way that she uses her Blue Retro Dress to compliment her soft pink fur. However, players should watch how quickly they are charmed by this villager.
According to the description on Cookie's e-Reader card, she has "the brain of one mischievous puppy!" However, the very same description points out that "it's hard to stay mad at a pink dog," so perhaps Cookie's mischievous nature and peppy personality will add more fun than trouble to island life.
Chrissy
Animal Crossing fans hoping to maintain strong family values will surely love Chrissy, a peppy rabbit villager, and Francine, Chrissy's matching sister with the "snooty" personality type. However, there is more to both Chrissy and Francine than the fact that they are the only non-special Animal Crossing characters with a confirmed relationship as siblings.
According to Chrissy's Pocket Camp profile, she has spent a large part of her life living "under her big sister's thumb." However, this energetic bunny has "learned by now how to wriggle free" and is ready to bring cute hijinks to her island home.
Ruby
Much like Bella, Ruby offers a refreshing twist on the usual appearance of peppy Animal Crossing villagers. While Ruby's look isn't quite as edgy as Bella's pop-punk style, this rabbit villager is one of the very few peppy villagers to maintain a resting poker face. However, Ruby does sport a cute 'Bunny Tee' featuring a smiling rabbit with the same coloring as Ruby herself.
It is obvious from one look at Ruby that she is modeled after an albino rabbit and she often points this out to players. For example, Ruby's favorite saying reads: "You can always take the red-eye," as a cheeky nod to her own red eyes. Aesthetically speaking, Ruby can really shake up any island.
Shino
While many Animal Crossing fans choose their villagers from a pool of their childhood favorites, players looking to meet the newest villagers will love adding Shino the peppy deer villager to their island community.
Shino is one of the newest Animal Crossing villagers added to the games in November 2021. Shino's peppy personality is somewhat surprising considering that her character design is based on depictions of jealous female demons in Japanese Noh Theatre. However, she makes a great point with her favorite saying, reminding players that it's "Better the demon you know than the one you do not."
Rosie
Rosie is easily one of the most iconic Animal Crossing villagers of all time, peppy or otherwise. This iris blue cat sports shining eyes, cute pink blush, and an everpresent smile to welcome players into the world of Animal Crossing. While every peppy villager is friendly, Rosie goes above and beyond everyday kindness.
According to her e-Reader card, Rosie "always helps the other villagers by running plenty of their errands [because] she wants to be as beautiful inside as she is outside." Rosie's generosity combined with her status as one of a select handful of villagers to have been a part of the Animal Crossing universe since its inception make this peppy cat villager absolutely unforgettable.
Ketchup
While the inspiration behind many Animal Crossing villagers can be a bit of a mystery, there is little guesswork to be done regarding Ketchup's namesake. This peppy duck villager is very obviously modeled after a ripe tomato, featuring bright red feathers with orange accents and a few green feathers across her forehead to mimic the leaves on top of a tomato.
Ketchup's favorite saying is absolutely nonsensical, reading "When in doubt, eat a tomato!" However, this nonsense makes sense in a way, as peppy villagers tend to live in their imaginations and often try to introduce new idioms and slang to their communities. Even if players don't care to delve into the details of their villagers' personalities, Ketchup is simply a startlingly cute addition to the Animal Crossing universe.
