Red Dead Redemption 2 is quite easily one of the highlights of the previous console generation. Featuring some of the best graphics of any game of the PS4/Xbox One era in addition to solid third-person gameplay and an incredible single-player campaign, Red Dead Redemption 2 proved a very valuable journey, and, if you’re looking for a great PC game to play today, it has lasting power.

Red Dead Redemption 2 places you squarely in the boots of Arthur Morgan 12 years prior to the events of 2010’s Red Dead Redemption. Featuring the likes of Dutch Van Der Linde, Bill Williamson, Javier Escuela, John Marston, and a variety of other characters from the original game, Red Dead Redemption 2 tells the story of how a once-thriving gang from the Old West fell apart due to the decaying vision of a lost leader in Dutch. In the process, we see terrific performances from each of the voice actors as they give it their all in portraying these lifelike characters, most notably Arthur Morgan, whose story of redemption is particularly engaging.

Although the game initially suffered from mediocre third-person shooting, Rockstar eventually remedied the situation such that the game now features excellent action sequences, from horseback chases to train robberies to gunfights with the law. And it all lends itself perfectly to the immersive open world that can take players years to explore.
