Beautiful Chicago marketing executive Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) lands her dream job in Paris and has to adjust to a city where she doesn't speak the language, a dismissive boss, and a guy who belongs to someone else, but boy does she look good trying. Emily In Paris creator Darren Star has brought style to the story as he did with Sex And The City.

Unlike Carrie & Co., who were older and established in their careers, Emily is an assistant, albeit one with a large social media following, so we must suspend the reality that she would not be able to afford a collection of Chanel bags, along with so many no-repeat outfits replete with accessories and say, "C'est la vie."

What's Black & White & Red All Over

"Sexy or Sexist" is the title of Episode 3 that highlights the difference between what Americans and the French consider risque. Aside from the questionable ad campaign, Emily begins to learn to speak the language of her new country and deals with uncooperative colleagues.

Perhaps Emily thought that the more Parisian she looked in her requisite beret along with her shorts suit capped off with a Chanel crossbody bag the better chance she'd have to master the vocabulary and become one of the work crowd.

Oh To Walk In Her Shoes

Emily in Shoe decorated coat

This novelty satin overcoat is reminiscent of Charlotte's Prada lipstick skirt made famous on Sex And The City and perfect for showing off what a fun date she is to her client-cum-new boyfriend. Wisely, Em wore black underneath as to not distract from the footwear-strewn outerwear. Clearly, black is not boring when the dress comes with a stand-alone bejeweled collar which doubles as a necklace.

The relationship albeit worthy of a European romance novel replete with Emily (who has just been fired by Sylvie), Emily's heart belongs to Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) who has found a way to stay in Paris instead of going to Normandy to open a restaurant and is also no longer involved with Camille (Camille Razat).

Spring Flowers, April Showers

By the end of Episode 2, the beautiful and ingenuous Emily is exposed to the ins and outs of amour when her presence at a business soiree garners the attention of a handsome, flirtatious, and very married client.

To put the focus back on the work, she creates a successful viral campaign and does so is an off the shoulder bold flower dress with a wide belt to accentuate her tiny waist. Her cropped black rain jacket doesn't do much to shield her (or her hot pink heels) from the downpour--that's what her clear umbrella is for.

At an avant-garde during Paris fashion week event, Emily one-ups her sparkly LDB with a 1960s-inspired see-through coat with colorful trim and white high-heel booties to complete the go-go girl look.

Her sense of style and whimsy, as well as her good looks, make Emily the client's obvious choice to model a dress that is being auctioned for charity when the actual model is a no-show. The event doesn't go as everyone had planned but as usual, the Influencer finds a way to save the day.

Pink Ladies

In Episode 9, Emily attends Camille's gallery opening in a modern rendition of a 1950s two-tone bebop jacket dotted with illustrations of fashionable women. The rest of the outfit including her vintage handbag is all black as to not take away from the awesome design of the pink and black showstopper.

It's no wonder with her daring sense of style that she caught the eye of the heir apparent of a very high-profile fashion client, much to the chagrin of Gabriel and of course her boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu).

Raspberries And Creme, To Boot

Flat thigh-high boots meet her houndstooth car coat which is complemented by a plaid hat of the same color. The scarf, the choker, and the black Chanel handbag are subtle accessories that keep the attention on the outwear.

If you look good you feel good in the early part of Episode 6, especially if you make a doozy of a faux pas as Emily did at an iconic couture house giving the disdainful Sylvie ammunition to not only exclude her from an important meeting but quite possibly send her packing back to Chicago.

Channeling Audrey Hepburn

In Episode 6, entitled "Ringarde" for which the English translation is "tacky," Emily is out to prove she's anything but after Sylvie puts her on a luxury brand quarantine as a punishment for the young assistant overstepping her bounds.

A dead ringer for the Breakfast At Tiffany star, Emily attends the ballet with a seemingly charming professor in a full-skirted, off the shoulder LBD, a fur shrug, and a chic but subtle rhinestone tiara. Her date may not have worked out, but running into the client she had previously offended to right her wrong, was executed as elegantly as she looked.

Dramatic Metallic

In Episode 4, Emily's mettle is tested so the green metallic moto had to be a real confidence booster. Also, the pairing of pink and green is traditionally a very preppy combination yet the Influencer upped the game of the color duo to badass status. The dress is fun and flirty while the jacket is the softer side of outwear usually associated with toughness.

Good thing, because she needs to rise to the occasion when Camille hooks her up with a potentially huge new client for her firm, but Sylvie's affair with another client can sabotage the deal.

Green With Envy

Emily on line

Emily is becoming the toast of Paris thanks to her growing social media following. Her bold statement coat (FYI: one of many she owns) says "I may not be from France but as long as she's there she's going to live out loud. Her Blackwatch plaid hat matches her skirt, and once again the marketing maven proves there's no fashionable outfit that can't be enhanced by a scarf.

The other statement coat she wears in this episode is a red and purple plaid, which she wears the evening she runs into Gabriel and their tete-a-tete makes potential lovers out of friends.

In Living Color

In Episode 1, Emily has brought her can-do American gumption and millennial POV to her new Paris office, where she struggles to communicate and please her unpleasable supervisor Sylvie.

She makes her first day on the job debut in pieces that don't match but somehow go together. The Christian Louboutin collage booties are straight out of the Carrie Bradshaw playbook, so it's no wonder she kept her black and white purse color-free. Her snakeskin print shirt and the white tank is pretty basic until the native Chicagoan added a scenic print shirt as an overlay.
