Spring is just around the corner, and Netflix has got original series and films popping up like new flowers... this March, an incredible 50+ new Netflix Originals and Netflix films are joining the streaming service (as well as a few classic films and shows, of course). While some of these are films that Netflix has nabbed from the festival circuit or borrowed from other countries, many are still true originals. If there was ever any doubt that Netflix is becoming all about original content, this month's new arrivals should put that to rest. From originals to classics, here's the best of what to expect this March.

10 A Clockwork Orange

Malcolm McDowell in A Clockwork Orange

Starting with a creepy classic, A Clockwork Orange arrives on the first of the month. This Stanley Kubrick adaptation of the novel of the same name has been thrilling audiences since 1971, and stands up well to the test of time. Prepare to be disturbed as a gang leader in a dystopian future is tortured as part of a 'violence aversion' programme - and wonder whether his initial behavior, the program itself, or what happens when he is released is the creepiest part.

9 Apollo 13

Another classic film landing on the streaming service this month is Apollo 13, the Oscar-winning drama based on the true story of the Apollo 13 space mission. This is the film that made 'Houston, we have a problem' a part of pop culture. The star-studded cast help bring this tense historical moment to life, and this is a drama that will have anyone on the edge of their seat (despite already knowing exactly how things end).

The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind is set in Malawi (and yes, there are subtitles as well as some English speech in the film), when a drought threatens to destroy a family. 7 The Notebook

The Notebook

Some classic Nicholas Sparks romance arrives this month, with The Notebook. Starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, this sweet film is the story of a romance that starts in the 1930s, and carries on for decades as two young people try and find a way to be together. The Notebook is a total tearjerker, and it's also responsible for a few quotes that are now firmly entrenched in pop culture, including 'if you're a bird, I'm a bird'. Keep several boxes of tissues handy for this one.

6 Disney's Christopher Robin

Christopher Robin Live-Action Animation Comparison

It may not be as well-known (or a big of a box office smash) as most of Disney's other recent live-action adaptations of classic properties, but Disney's Christopher Robin is still a charming and heartwarming tale that's worth a watch. Ewan McGregor stars as the grown-up version of the boy from the Winnie The Pooh stories, as he returns to the Hundred Acre Wood to try and rediscover some of the magic of childhood.

5 Queer Eye (Season 3)

Queer Eye Season 3

When this reboot of the '00s makeover show first hit Netflix in 2018, no one expected it to become the absolute smash hit that it did. However, this version of Queer Eye does so much more than just rearrange the furniture and give some slobs a haircut. Instead, the new Queer Eye delves deep into emotional issues like self-esteem, coming out, self-love, and so much more. There are still some amazing before and after shots, of course, but the third season of the show is sure to keep tugging on those heartstrings - and doing so much more than just changing the surface.

Arriving: March 15

4 Most Beautiful Thing (Season 1)

Hulu viewers will probably already have binged The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel - and it looks like Most Beautiful Thing is going to be Netflix's answer to the smash hit series. The two have a whole lot in common; both about women in the late 1950s who leave their husbands and strike out alone, both about women who take to the stage to discover themselves and inspire others.

However, Most Beautiful Thing is about a woman who takes to the stage as a singer, not a comedian - and it's set in Rio De Janeiro (expect subtitles). Still, this is period empowerment, and should appeal to any Marvelous Mrs. Maisel fans.

3 Santa Clarita Diet (Season 3)

Drew Barrymore in Santa Clarita Diet Season 2

The third season of Netflix's Original Zombie Sitcom is on the way this month, and it's bound to be an interesting one. The Santa Clarita Diet makes zombie tv fun again, as a suburban family try to deal with a mother who has an increasingly desperate need to eat human flesh... The Santa Clarita Diet is funny, fresh, and still has plenty to explore in the coming season. While season 2 finally explained exactly where the zombie outbreak comes from (clams), it still leaves a lot to be discovered in terms of the secret knighthood that's been battling the outbreak for centuries... and fans can't wait to find out what happens next.

2 The Highwaymen

The Highwaymen Still

This period drama stars Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson as retired police officers who come back together to take on one last case: catching Bonnie and Clyde, who have just escaped from the law. The story of Bonnie and Clyde is, of course, famous - but this film tells a different true story, that of the detectives who tracked down the outlaw couple. Perfect for fans of period films and shoot-em-up action.

Arriving: March 29

1 Traitors (Season 1)

Finally, another period series is hitting Netflix this month, this time from the UK. Traitors takes place after the Second World War, when a civil servant is convinced to spy on the British government on behalf of the Americans. This smart spy thriller is tense, but has some humor to it, and while it's not perfectly historically accurate, it brings the characters and the point in history to life in an incredible way.
