The MCU has had plenty of time to build intricate relationships between its heroes over its long and successful lifespan since debuting in 2008. Other than just focusing on the heroes fighting their enemies, it also gave them plenty of opportunities to fall in love and show their emotional sides.

Some of the MCU romances are more iconic and better-known than others. As a result, they got more space in the movies than other romances that appeared only briefly and then vanished again, presumably for good. It makes sense that the MCU focuses on the main characters but some romances still deserve a lot more space than they have been given in the past.

Deserved More Space: Peggy Carter And Daniel Sousa

Peggy Carter and Daniel Sousa about to kiss

Nowadays, every MCU fan knows that Peggy Carter was destined to end up with Steve Rogers after all. But before that happened, Peggy and her fellow agent Daniel Sousa dated. Agent Carter had them circle around each other for two whole seasons. And just when they finally acknowledged their feelings and shared a kiss, the show ended. The fans of this couple would have loved to see Peggy and Daniel interact as a couple but it didn't happen.

Got Enough: Tony Stark And Pepper Potts

Tony Stark and Pepper Potts kiss in Iron Man

The development of Tony's and Pepper's relationship has been in the works for a long time - since the first Iron Man movie in 2008. Tony and Pepper were drawn to each other but also had their differences, just like so many real couples do. They broke up but got back together and by the end of their story, they were closer as ever - both as parents to Morgan and as superheroes fighting side by side. Pepper was there when Tony died and she assured him it was alright for him to go.

Deserved More Space: Peter Parker And MJ

MJ and Peter kissing in Far From Home

A whole film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, is focused on the developing romance between Peter and his classmate MJ. Yet it would have been nice if the MCU showed how Peter fell for MJ in the first place. Instead, the films went from Peter's crush on Liz to Peter being in love with MJ - with almost nothing in between, which made this couple feel less organic.

Got Enough: Steve Rogers And Peggy Carter

Steve's and Peggy's way separated after the first Captain America movie but they spent a lot of time together in the First Avenger. And even then, they kept circling to each other. Peggy remembered Steve and he met her again as an old lady.

Their story got their justified end when Steve went back in time to live out the rest of his life with Peggy. Adding anything else to their story would be a nice extra bit, but it's not necessary.

Deserved More Space: T'Challa And Nakia

Chadwick Boseman and Lupita Nyong'o as T'Challa and Nakia in Black Panther walk in the Wakandan market.

By the time the audience met Nakia, her relationship with T'Challa was already over but they found their way back to each other during the events of Black Panther. Unfortunately, since the movie had so much going on, it barely showed the audience the couple interacting together. It also didn't provide a lot of details about their shared past. And with Chadwick Boseman's tragic death, their storyline in the MCU is most likely over.

Got Enough: Peter Quill And Gamora

Peter's and Gamora's relationship wasn't always idyllic. In fact, Gamora originally wasn't so fond of Peter but she fell for him in the end. They fought side by side in both of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. Gamora was later willing to sacrifice her life to stop Thanos and she persuaded Peter to help her. Unfortunately, it was Thanos who killed Gamora in the end, and it broke Peter. Their relationship might be over (for now) but the films did it justice nonetheless.

Deserved More Space: Jessica Jones And Luke Cage

Jessica Jones's most iconic romance in the comics is the one with her fellow superhero Luke Cage. The two got married, had a daughter together, and are one of the more stable Marvel couples. Jessica Jones went in a different direction, though.

Jessica and Luke dated for a while but broke up in the end. It didn't help their relationship that Jessica lied to Luke about his wife's death and that Kilgrave forced Luke to manipulate Jessica. But if circumstances were different, these two might have made it work.

Got Enough: Wanda Maximoff And Vision

If this article was written before the release of WandaVision, the couple would have been in the second category. But their TV show finally gave the iconic romance the space it didn't get in the movies. In the films, Wanda and Vision only had a handful of scenes focused on their relationship. However, it was the show that proved once and for all how important they were for each other. And even though Wanda let Vision go in the end, she at least got the closure she needed.

Deserved More Space: Clint Barton And Laura Barton

It came as a big surprise to his fellow Avengers - with the exception of Natasha - when Clint introduced the superheroes to his wife Laura and their children in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). But other than that, Clint's family had a minimum of space in the MCU. And then they were all snapped so the fans got to see even less of the couple.

Got Enough: Scott Lang And Hope Van Dyne

Some fans don't like this couple because they believe they don't have that much in common. Whether that's the case or not, one thing that Scott and Hope have got going for them is that they got a lot of scenes together. The relationship between them had the time to blossom since Hope was the one who trained Scott and they worked side by side as heroes. They might not always agree on things but are supportive of each other.
