Marisa Tomei was born in Brooklyn, New York, and has had a captivating career onscreen ever since she dropped out of Boston University for a role in As The World Turns. Although she got started in daytime drama, she didn't stop there. Tomei found her way into the Cosby Show spinoff, A Different World, playing Lisa Bonet's eccentric roommate, and then moved on to act in movies shortly thereafter.

Four Rooms (1995) - 6.8

Four Rooms is a zany comedy from 1995 which shows four rooms in a hotel with connected storylines on the night of New Year's Eve. Allison Anders, Alexandre Rockwell, Robert Rodriguez, and Quentin Tarrantino each wrote and directed the story of one of the four hotel rooms. The plots range from two misbehaving children left home alone messing with the bellhop, to a coven of witches trying to complete a mysterious potion.

Marisa Tomei plays a deadpan stoner girl at a party with whom the bellhop, played by Tim Roth, has a very comical conversation as he's trying to get ahold of his coworker who called in sick.

Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) - 7.5

Spider-Man: Far From Home centers around young Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, as he joins his class on a Europe trip following the events of Avengers: Endgame. Parker struggles to enjoy a normal teenage life with his peers as he is charged to handle a new force that is threatening the world while also trying to win over his crush MJ, played by Zendaya.

It also looks at his personal life, and the people, especially women, who were affected by the various scandals of the man behind the slapstick. Marisa Tomei plays the role of Mabel Normand.

My Cousin Vinny (1992) - 7.6

My Cousin Vinny was also released in 1992 and is a hilarious comedy about two New York college students, played by Ralph Macchio and Mitchell Whitfield, who are on their way home after a road trip. After they mistakenly shoplift, they are arrested and are accused of robbery and murder in a small town in Alabama. The boys are defended by a cousin who has a law degree, but no experience, Vinny, played by Joe Pesci.

Cyrus (2010) - 6.3

Cyrus stars John C. Reily as John, a man who is struggling to reenter the dating world seven years after he and his wife, played by Catherine Keener, got divorced. In an attempt to "get back out there" he attends his ex-wife's engagement party and hits it off with Molly, played by Marisa Tomei.

The two lovebirds have instant chemistry but things get comically complicated once he meets Molly's live-in adult son Cyrus, played by Jonah Hill. Reily has to navigate falling for Tomei while also getting acquainted with her bizarre relationship with her only son.

Happy Accidents (2000) - 7.2

Happy Accidents is a romantic comedy from 2000 that stars Marisa Tomei as Ruby and Vincent D'Onofrio as Sam. We learn that Ruby has had a string of bad relationships with partners that she tries to fix through conversations between her and her friends and her therapist.

When she meets Sam, he seems refreshingly sweet and honest. The problem is, he is convinced he is from the future and has a mission that brought him into Ruby's life.

In The Bedroom (2001) - 7.4

In the Bedroom is a 2001 crime drama starring Sissy Spacek and Tom Wilkinson as Matt and Ruth Fowler, a typical New England family whose son Frank, played by Nick Stahl has come after his freshman year in college.

Frank falls in love with and begins a relationship with an older woman, Marisa Tomei, who hasn't quite divorced her husband and is a mother to two small children. Her ex-husband isn't so keen on letting her go and thus begins the drama.
