There are tons of different Grass-type Pokemon available in Pokemon Sword & Shield. This guide will show players the best ones to find in the game. Pokemon Sword & Shield recently concluded its content with the release of the Crown Tundra DLC late last year. This DLC brought the total number of Pokemon available in the game to over 600. This includes new Pokemon to capture and Pokemon from previous generations that have been considered fan-favorites for decades. While Grass-type Pokemon aren't considered one of the better typings in the game since they have tons of exploitable weaknesses, there are still some that stand above the rest. Here are the best Grass-type Pokemon for players to encounter in Pokemon Sword & Shield.

This works for both competitive and casual play. While casual play just consists of collecting enough gym badges to participate in the final tournament at the end, there are tons of different things players need to consider when taking the leap into competitive play. Outside of just the Pokemon's typings, players will need to worry about their stats, Held Item, placement on their team, and which move to select with each new turn. It's incredibly challenging to be a Pokemon Master but some of the most enjoyable competitive experiences to come out of gaming. Here are the best Grass-type Pokemon in the Galar Region.

The Best Grass-Type Pokemon in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Pokemon Sword and Shield Gigantamax Rillaboom

Here are the best Grass-type Pokemon players will find during their time in the Galar region.

  • Rillaboom: This is the fully evolved form of Grookey. With the release of the Pokemon Sword & Shield expansion pass, Rillaboom can now Gigantamax into its most powerful form yet. For those who selected Grookey from the beginning or traded with a friend, this is one of the best the region has to offer.
  • Appletun: Another new Pokemon with a Gigantamax Form, Appletun is one of the better Grass-types available. It has a decent HP and Special Attack stat and can learn a variety of moves by being half Dragon-type. To obtain it, the player will need to expose Applin to a Sweet Apple.
  • Roserade: This Pokemon is much easier to collect in this game than in previous titles. To obtain it, players will need to give Roselia a Shiny Stone. It is a fairly fast Special Attacker, allowing it to bring it one of its powerful moves before its opponent. This is a glass cannon for sure.

The 25th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise is this year meaning we are in for tons of new content. Whether it be a brand-new game, a remake or something different is unknown. Regardless, Pokemon fans are excited to see what is in store.
