Audiences love watching blossoming couples on TV and in movies. It's one of the most appealing aspects of tuning in, especially if the couple has a will-they/won't-they storyline that keeps fans guessing, such as Sam and Diane's relationship in Cheers, or even Ross and Rachel in Friends.

Good relationships take time and effort; for these couples, they definitely put in the time and had both downfalls and successes in their relationships as they navigated how to go from friends to lovers. In Friends, Chandler and Monica's transition was sudden, but they handled it well, even enjoying keeping their new relationship to themselves for a while. Couples that begin as friends first all have great stories behind them, and audiences love watching the plot unfold.

Ron & Kim (Kim Possible)

Kim Possible: A Sitch In Time Ron and Kim

Kim Possible had many unforgettable episodes where viewers watched Kim and Ron's budding relationship. The two were best friends since preschool and inseparable ever since; though Kim had a tendency to succumb to peer pressure, she never let the fact that she and Ron were in two different social groups come between them. They're opposite in just about every way, but they support one another and are rarely found without the other beside them. Kim and Ron's relationship was so great because they were best friends first but were clearly meant to be something more.

Bug & Lily (Crossing Jordan)

They were always there for and kind to one another, which led to a strong connection and a deep love.

Their partnership became more personal than professional eventually, leading to a family together and their own piece of romantic paradise.

When she returned, Tom was ready to tell her how he felt, only to learn that she was engaged to someone else.
