Although most Disney films end with a happy ending, that does not mean that their story is over, nor is their awesome adventures. Some of the most popular Disney movies have been gifted with sequels, prequels, and even midquels- and they all take fans on a brand new journey with their favorite characters. Most all of these sequels are put out as straight-to-DVD and though some are better than others, there are many that do rarely end up being better than the first film!

Here we have listed the top 10 best straight-to-DVD Disney sequels according to Rotten Tomatoes!

The Little Mermaid II: Return To The Sea (2000): 45%

The Little Mermaid is definitely one of the most popular Disney films ever made, and when they released the sequel, it made the original even more interesting. At the beginning of The Little Mermaid II: Return To The Sea, Ariel and Prince Eric are having a big get together with merpeople and humans to introduce their newborn daughter to the world when it gets crashed by Ursula's crazy sister, Morgana.

After their encounter, Ariel decides to build walls around the castle so that no one can go into the ocean, which ultimately causes her daughter Melody to rebel and make a deal with the sea witch to turn into a mermaid. The film is definitely a great sequel and heartwarming adventure for all fans of the original!

Lady and The Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure (2001): 49%

Lady and The Tramp are known as one of the cutest Disney dog relationships. In this sequel, the couple has a son named Scamp, who is just like his father and wants to be a junkyard dog.

When he leaves home to live the way he wants and joins a pack of stray dogs, he finds himself in a crazy adventure and discovers that the life he had before was a lot better than being a stray. This film is not only super cute, but it also has a great message about how important family really is!

Aladdin and The King of Thieves (1996): 50%

It seems that Disney is a big fan of creating characters with absent parents and Aladdin is a big example of that in this sequel. In Aladdin and The King of Thieves, we find out a little bit of background on Aladdin's father and that he believes that he is dead. When we learn that he is indeed still alive, Aladdin goes on an adventure to find him and then discovers that he is actually the King of Thieves, which causes his father to pretend to want a relationship with him so that he can have a taste of royalty.

The film has a lot of twists and turns throughout, and it is actually a really good sequel to the first Aladdin film!

Bambi II (2006): 50%

The first Bambi was known for the devastating death of his mother at the beginning of the movie; in this sequel, we see Bambi's childhood with his father by his side after his mother's death.

It turns out that his father is actually the prince of the forest and he tries to teach Bambi the ways of the forest. The film has a bunch of dark turns, but by the end of the film, it is just a usual heartwarming and loving Disney movie!

The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998): 62%

Lion King 2 Cropped

One of many Lion King sequels, this film follows Simba's new daughter Kiara as she falls in love with a mean lion cub named Kovu who happens to be ordered to kill Simba since Scar was unable to do so.

He ultimately doesn't do it out of respect for his newfound love. This Disney film takes a whole new twist on the original film, but has all of the great characters that everyone loves along the way! Not to mention, after the release of the film, Kovu has turned into a new fan favorite of the film series.

An Extremely Goofy Movie (2000): 63%

Goofy is one of the most beloved Disney characters of all time, and the same goes for all of his spin-off films. 101 Dalmations II: Patch's London Aventure (2003): 67%

In this Disney sequel, the Dalmatian family moves away to live on a farm with their owners and ultimately leaves behind one of their most hardheaded pups named Patch.

When he realizes he has been left behind, he decides to travel to London for an audition for his favorite show, Thunderbolt, and just like the first film Cruella De Vile is still on the hunt for a new dog who ends up being Thunderbolt. This film does have a pretty interesting storyline and has some great twists!

Cinderella III: A Twist In Time (2007): 75%

A Disney film about a princess and time-traveling could not have been more of a perfect idea. The film doesn't fully pay attention to Cinderella. Instead, it follows one of the evil stepsisters named Anastasia when she takes the Fairy Godmother's wand and goes back in time and completely changes the story so that she is the one who the glass slipper fits.

In Disney fashion, by the end of the movie she realizes that what she has done is wrong and she fixes everything and makes it all go back to normal.

The Lion King 1 1/2 (2004): 78%

A different, unique, and hilariously cute Disney movie was The Lion King 1 1/2. The film goes back and forth in time and gives a look at everything going on in the jungle with Timon and Pumba narrating and watching the film along with the audience. They share some stories about the movie and characters that really pull the storyline together in the best way!
