Divorce American Style (1967) is a great way for Norman Lear fans to see his work on a feature film. Lear produced this satirical movie starring Dick Van Dyke and Debbie Reynolds. It is a scandalous love triangle in which Richard (Van Dyke) and Barbara (Reynolds) have reached a crossroads in their marriage and are introduced to divorce as a serious option. Bye Bye Birdie (1963): 6.6

Taking after Elvis Presley, Conrad Birdie (played by Jesse Pearson) is a rock singer who gets drafted in the late 1950s. Dick Van Dyke plays the central character, Albert F. Peterson, in the original 1960 stage performance and in the 1963 film version of Bye Bye Birdie. Albert is a poet stepping into the music business after writing one of Conrad's hits. The rock star's visit shakes up the town of Sweet Apple, Ohio. The movie, also starring Janet Leigh, is one of Dick Van Dyke's top titles on Prime, but it is only viewable by rental or purchase.

A few years ago, Carl Reiner consented to having two episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show colorized. The project was titled The Dick Van Dyke Show: Now in Living Color! and is dated as a 2017 project.
