Fans are excited to see Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil return in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, sporting a brand-new suit. Daredevil may not have the multitude of alternate suits like the Fantastic Four or Iron Man do, but he has his fair share.

Since his debut in April 1964, Daredevil has since evolved to become one of Marvel's most beloved street-level heroes, and over the years he has donned several costumes. Some have gone on to be iconic looks for the character while others have the unfortunate fate of being temporary or forgotten by fans and Marvel alike.

Daredevil: Attorney At Law

In the comics, Matt Murdock is exposed as Daredevil, but he takes it rather well and decides to merge the two personas of Matt and Daredevil together. The result is an attorney wearing a blood-red suit that even most of his supervillains would say is a little much.

The red lawyer's suit is simply humorous to see, showcasing how comfortable Matt is as Daredevil when he's fully embraced it as a lawyer as well. It's also a classy suit, resembling something Moon Knight would wear as Mr. Knight.

Armored Daredevil

The 90s loved to reinvent characters and make them nice and armored. In some cases, it would work, and sometimes it didn't. One of the better attempts at an armored revamp was with Daredevil, returning to the black color scheme of the Frank Miller era.

With red chest plates and bulging silvery armor plates across his arms and legs, the Armored Daredevil is very much a product of its time. It has its fair share of fans and would go on to be the blueprint for different black redesigns later on.

Daredevil 2099

This suit was worn by Samuel Fisk, the descendant of Kingpin as the new version of Daredevil. Where most 2099 redesigns go for something drastically different, such as Spider-Man 2099's alteration, Daredevil 2099 sticks to the iconic red look that the character is known for but is given a more tactical design.

The 2099 costume is arguably the closest style to the suit worn by Charlie Cox in the Daredevil live-action series, but it's more armored with paramilitary gear, fitting with the gun-toting nature of Samuel Fisk.

Horseman Of Apocalypse

It's always unfortunate when good a redesign only last for a few issues. In 2015, various heroes were given Horseman Of Apocalypse redesigns for variant covers, ranging from Captain America to Spider-Man.

Daredevil was given a new fantastical look with glowing accents, horns, and new weapons. Even though Daredevil is a more grounded and street-level hero, this Horseman design could have actually been used during some big crossover event and fans would enjoy it. Sadly, the Horseman suit only exists in one comic, and it's not even used in the story itself: only on the cover.

First Appearance Daredevil

Today, Daredevil is synonymously thought of with the colors red and/or black. However, many tend to forget that Daredevil debuted with a very bright yellow and red suit. This was seemingly forgotten, with the suit only occasionally referenced in the comics, even though it made for one of Daredevil's most iconic comic book panels.

It's far from a bad suit since it did establish the overall design of Daredevil that would continue to evolve over the years. Fortunately, the original yellow outfit had made a return on She-Hulk: Attorney At Law with Daredevil's return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Elektra As The New Daredevil

With Matt Murdock in prison, Hell's Kitchen still needs Daredevil's protection. That's where Daredevil's lover and sometimes enemy Elektra comes in, further blurring the line between hero and villain as an anti-hero. Her Daredevil suit is a perfect hybrid of Elektra and Daredevil suits.

It gives her a more ninja-like appearance while still keeping the red and black devil design that the moniker is known for. Though Matt would eventually return, Elektra's tenure as Daredevil left an impact with the suit becoming iconic.

Shadowland Daredevil

Moon Knight, White Tiger, Spider-Man, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Elektra prepare to battle an evil Daredevil in Shadowland.

For years, Daredevil sported the red suit until the Shadowland storyline went back and took from Frank Miller's run, making Daredevil wear a black costume yet again. However, instead of a makeshift suit, this black suit is a genuine Daredevil design.

It keeps the horned demon styling while embracing the black color scheme with a red logo; making for the best of multiple beloved looks. Similar to Spider-Man and his various black suits, the darker color scheme just makes Daredevil pop off the page. It makes him look more intimidating and fits the stealthy Batman-esque character that he is.

Prototype Daredevil

This is the aforementioned Frank Miller design that came when the acclaimed Marvel and DC writer revamped Daredevil in his own style, retelling his origins. Instead of immediately donning the more iconic suit, Miller's Daredevil wore a suit that was essentially black clothes, a mask, and white wrappings.

Even though it's hardly a superhero suit, this design for the prototype stage of Daredevil would end up becoming so iconic that Charlie Cox's Daredevil wears it more than the typical red suit. It's a grounded and realistic look that fits Daredevil as a character.

Classic Red

For all the designs that Daredevil has had, it's hard to top the red demon design that most fans think of when they hear the name Daredevil. It's not too little, and it's not too much; it's an all-red bodysuit with horns that matches Daredevil's athleticism while providing a superhero look unlike anyone else in the Marvel universe.

This design for Daredevil would end up overshadowing the original design for the character and become the blueprint for most suits that have appeared in the comics and other forms of media since.

Back In Black Daredevil

Marvel took the Shadowland suit and the red suit and merged them together with a black bodysuit featuring red gloves, boots, escrima sticks, and a logo. With the black suit becoming more and more popular, especially after the Charlie Cox version, it makes sense that Marvel continued to embrace the design.

For years, the black suit would remain the standard look for Daredevil until he returned to the classic red in 2018. It's a proper mix of old and new that showcases that simplicity is often effective when it comes to certain character designs, especially Daredevil.
