Since its launch in 2019, Disney+ has become one of the most beloved streaming services available to casual viewers and binge-watchers alike. Of course, having a library of treasured animated masterpieces and exciting series doesn't hurt the platform's magical reputation either. The Disney name has built a legacy on classic stories and enchanting characters, but their streaming service has also made more than a few contributions to that field as well.

From new animated originals to forays into the realms of Star Wars and the MCU, Disney+ has introduced its subscribers to a new cast of characters to join the likes of Mickey and Minnie in the Disney hall of fame.

Luca And Alberto (Luca)

Luca could easily be considered Pixar's answer to The Little Mermaidbut with Enrico Casarosa's whimsical twist on the formula. On paper, a story involving a pair of sea monsters and their quest for a brand new Vespa scooter might sound a little bizarre, but viewers were treated to a delightful and colorful adventure with Luca and Alberto along the Italian coast.

It seems unfair to separate the two as they play off of each other so wonderfully. Where Luca is curious and a little bit naive, Alberto is bold and adventurous, making them one of the most enjoyable duos in Pixar since Carl and Russel.

Tylor Tuskmon (Monsters At Work)

Monsters At Work is a series that plays with a rather interesting perspective, at least in the monster world. While Pixar's Mike and Sulley have shown viewers what it's like to get one's start in the scaring business, Tylor shows what happens when new monsters have to adapt to business protocol.

Anyone who has held down a job for a long period of time knows how awkward and frustrating transitions can be, and the new team and management of Monsters Inc. illustrate that greatly. Pixar has a habit of creating relatable characters as their audience grows older, and Tylor is a great representative of those who grew up watching Monsters Inc., were in college during Monsters Universityand have now entered the workforce with this animated series.

Ned (Earth To Ned)

Jim Henson's Creature Shop has brought to life some of the most imaginative and creative characters on both the big and small screens, but there's something truly unique about this eccentric alien talk show host. As strange as it might sound, Ned is a character who is completely unreal and yet totally believable all at the same time.

On one hand, the use of practical effects and puppetry alone help make Ned seem like something from another planet, but the medium of a talk show used to study humanity is a creative stroke of genius as well. Needless to say, fans of the imaginative Jim Henson would welcome him to their planet any day of the week.

Star Waver (Star Wars: Visions)

Star Waver plays for Jabba in Star Wars visions

Star Wars: Visions brought several new flavors to the galaxy far, far away with this anime anthology. With so many different stories, sagas, and characters to select from, it's hard to pick just one. That being said, a rock band featuring a droid, a Jedi, and a relative of Jabba the Hutt can't go unrecognized.

In the episode "Tatooine Rhapsody," Star Wars fans are introduced to Jay, Gee, Kurtil, Lan, and V5 as Star Waver brings their sound across the galaxy. If they're talented enough to impress the infamous Jabba, the Force is truly one with this bombastic band.

Kate Bishop (Hawkeye)

One of the newest members to join the Disney+ lineup is the ambitious archer, Kate Bishop, seen in Disney+'s Hawkeyeand she's already growing her fanbase after one season. A self-taught and self-trained archer more than worthy of the Ronin or Hawkeye title, Kate is inarguably one of the finest young heroines introduced in the MCU.

Clint could definitely use a hand or two after the events of Infinity War, and as demonstrated during his time with Black Widow at his side, he definitely plays better as part of a team. It's certainly apt for a superhero to take on a young protege at some point, and Hawkeye should be no different.

Agent Mobius And The TVA (Loki)

It would be easy to consider someone like Sylvie or one of the many other variants as an exceptionally interesting character, but the recognition has to go to Agent Mobius and the rest of the TVA by extension. As Loki and the viewers are introduced to the dark recesses of the multiverse and the Sacred Timeline, they are taken by the guiding hand of Agent Mobius and the rest of the Time Variance Authority.

Mobius acts as a great foil to Loki's wily nature, and the soothingly smooth performance from Owen Wilson definitely doesn't do anything to hinder that fact. He's the smart and charming agent in charge that anyone would love to have escort them down the fabric of reality, and he's certainly just as memorable and likable as his green-clad companion.

Joe Gardner (Soul)

One of the best decisions Pixar made was having their new movies premiere on the streaming service rather than the theaters, making them more accessible at home sooner. Thanks to this call, viewers were introduced to the soul-searching saga of Joe Gardner and his journey to the Great Before and back.

The jazz-musician-turned-band-director represents yet another highly-relatable character, as Joe has a paradigm-shifting journey before playing with his favorite jazz group. Through Joe's eyes, viewers are invited to search within themselves and think about what gives their lives, talents, and positions that extra spark of soul.

Uatu The Watcher (Marvel’s What If…?)

Uatu raises his arms and grimaces in What If...?

With so many choices and so many different realities, it's hard to pick just one favorite character from Marvel's What If...?, but the obvious decision should be the one who has been with all the heroes and villains since the very beginning. Along with being one of the most intriguing and powerful beings in any version of the MCU, the Watcher is practically an unfathomable god-like figure in a realm of gods, heroes, and monsters.

As if the name wasn't a dead giveaway, the Watcher has a lot in common with the MCU fanbase as both continuously watch these incredible stories unfold. Dealing in matters of morality, free will, and other abstracts, there's no denying that he isn't a very thought-provoking character.

Agatha Harkness (Wandavision)

Agatha Harkness raises her arm and casts a spell in WandaVision.

Both Disney and Marvel are famous for creating fantastic villain characters, but Agatha seems to blend the best of both worlds. After all, not many villains of the MCU come equipped with their own catchy theme song. The wicked witch of WandaVision definitely made more than an impact with her part to play in the Scarlet Witch saga.

She's threatening, she's funny, she's demented, and she's deadly, and she's everything anyone could possibly want from an eccentric villainess dabbling in multiversal magic. Fans can only wait until she makes her solo series appearance or at least a special appearance in the next Doctor Strange film.

Din Djarin And Grogu (The Mandalorian)

If the legions of merchandise floating around wasn't a big enough clue, Grogu and his silver-clad champion have practically become the face of Disney+. Simply put, one cannot be mentioned without the other in tow.

The stars of the highly successful Mandalorian series have flown their way across the galaxy far, far away and into the hearts of Star Wars fans everywhere. With the emotional rollercoaster of Din Djarin's adventures with his little green foundling and the wealth of new lore added to the realms of Star Wars, it's no wonder the pair and their series have become as beloved as they are.
