The Marvels will bring together Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan, three women who have held the title of Captain Marvel and/or Ms. Marvel. It's a triumphant convergence in the MCU of some of the best comic book characters connected to Captain Marvel, but there are still many more who have yet to make their way into live-action, including major Marvel icons like Rogue from the X-Men.

Some of the best Captain Marvel comics characters not yet in the MCU include Marvel Universe heavyweights like Spider-Woman, Carol Danvers' closest friend, and Mystique, one of her earliest and deadliest enemies. Captain Marvel is a fantastic conduit in the MCU to introduce a variety of iconic superheroes and villains from the comic books that fans have been waiting to see in live-action.

Spider-Woman

An up-close look at Spider-Woman from Marvel Comics.

Jessica Drew is one of Carol Danvers' best friends in Marvel Comics, making her one of the best Captain Marvel-related characters from the comics to incorporate into the movies. Jessica Drew is also one of the best versions of Spider-Woman, so her MCU future is complicated.

Spider-Woman could very well end up as a member of the Sony Marvel Universe alongside Madame Web and Venom, but there is a possibility that she could appear in the MCU. Emilia Clarke is rumored to be playing Queen Veranke in the upcoming Secret Invasion series, and Veranke impersonated Drew during the comic book storyline of the same name.

Binary

Captain Marvel becomes Binary in Marvel Comics.

Binary is one of the most powerful versions of Captain Marvel and her special place in the evolution of Carol Danvers makes her a key comics character. After Carol lost some of her powers to Rogue, she was transformed into Binary thanks to experiments by The Brood.

Carol would continue to evolve in the years after, but recently, Binary has returned as a separate entity. This could signal Binary's appearance in the MCU as a more powerful and perhaps darker version of Captain Marvel.

Blue Marvel

Blue Marvel uses his powers in Marvel Comics.

Blue Marvel is a powerful cosmic superhero with strong ties to both Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau, making him a major part of the Captain Marvel comics universe. He likely isn't that far off, as he served with both women on the Ultimates.

He was also a member of the Avengers, and his cosmic powers and connections to big storylines in the last several years of Marvel Comics make him a prime character to adapt into the MCU as it moves forward.

Noh-Varr

Noh-Varr attacks in Marvel Comics.

Noh-Varr, who is also known as Marvel Boy, was Captain Marvel for a brief time in the early 2000s. Given his place in the legacy of the character, he's one of the most significant Captain Marvel comic characters who are still on the sidelines of the film universe.

He's also been a member of the Avengers, Young Avengers, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, a fact that makes him all but certain to appear in the MCU at some point in the future, especially as many other Young Avengers like Kate Bishop are now a part of it.

The Scarlet Centurion

Kang insults the Scarlet Centurion while Immortus looks on in Marvel Comics.

The Scarlet Centurion is one of the most powerful variants of Kang The Conqueror in Marvel Comics and is all but certain to appear in the MCU at some point. He also has an intriguing connection to Captain Marvel thanks to an unlikely romance with Carol Danvers.

A variant of the Scarlet Centurion fell in love with Carol during the "Kang Dynasty" storyline from the early 2000s. She rejected him, but their connection is intriguing, and it seems likely that he could make an appearance in the movies, or potentially in one of the Disney+ TV series.

Moonstone

Moonstone using her powers and grimacing in Marvel Comics

Moonstone is a major villain of Captain Marvel and even impersonated her for a long period of time, making her an essential comics character who isn't yet a part of the MCU. Moonstone is also a member of the Masters of Evil, a team that may be coming together in live-action.

Moonstone could be the villain that actress Zawe Ashton is playing in The Marvels, especially if the movie decides to involve more versions of Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel than the trio of Carol, Monica, and Kamala Khan.

Phyla-Vell

Phyla-Vell holding her sword in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Phyla-Vell is a powerful cosmic character and the daughter of the original Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell. Her legacy both as his daughter and her own tenure as Captain Marvel makes her a significant character from the comics who seems like a likely candidate to make the transition to the big screen.

Phyla-Vell has strong connections to many other cosmic characters in the Marvel Universe, including Nova and the Guardians of the Galaxy, meaning joining the MCU at some point in the near future is almost an inevitability.

Genis-Vell

Monica Rambeau fights Genis-Vell in panel from Marvel Comics.

Genis-Vell is the brother of Phyla-Vell, genetically created by their mother from the DNA of Mar-Vell. He has also held the title of Captain Marvel and is one of the most powerful villains of any of the characters to bear the name, making him a major figure from the comics for the MCU to consider.

Genis-Vell also has a connection to Baron Zemo, as Moonstone does, thanks to a storyline in Thunderbolts comics. This could position Genis-Vell to appear in the MCU in the near future if Zemo puts together the classic supervillain team.

Mystique

Mystique appears in Marvel Comics.

Mystique is one of the evilest X-Men villains ever, but she has also a strong and important connection to Captain Marvel. She first appeared in Ms. Marvel #18 as a foe of Carol Danvers, making her one of the best Captain Marvel comics characters still not in the MCU.

Mystique, along with the rest of the X-Men, is poised to join the movie franchise sooner rather than later. Given her mutant ability to shapeshift, she is likely already in the MCU, though fans haven't discovered it yet. And, her connection to Carol is certain to be exploited on screen.

Rogue

Rogue blows a kiss in Marvel Comics.

Rogue is perhaps the best Captain Marvel comics character not yet in the MCU because of the lasting connection she has to Carol Danvers. Rogue acquired most of her superhuman strength and stamina from Carol after a disastrous encounter between them in Avengers Annual #10.

This could very well play out in the film series in the same way. Given the family connection between Rogue and Mystique, it's very possible that both characters make their way into the MCU via Captain Marvel and in advance of the X-Men proper.
