When out exploring the world of Days Gone players will be able to do a wide array of different activities to keep themselves busy. In order to travel the world effectively though players will need to take good care of Deacon's trusty motorcycle. This ultimately means that players will need to spend a lot of time doing repairs on the bike when it takes damage and ensuring that it has plenty of fuel.

Another great way to keep the bike in tip-top shape is to complete as many upgrades as the player can. Each upgrade to the bike will boost its stats in different ways, which makes the bike perform better. There are a wide array of upgrades that the player will have access to, so knowing which ones to focus on is very important. This guide shows players which upgrades they should work on acquiring for the bike first.

Days Gone: First Upgrades To Get For the Bike

Days Gone PC Freaker

When working on bike upgrades the player is given the ability to improve the motorcycle in seven different key areas: Engine, Exhaust, Storage, Fuel Tank, Frame, Nitrous, and Tires. By improving each of these parts the player will grant their bike enhanced abilities in a number of different ways. In order to upgrade the bike the player will need to ensure that they have the correct number of resources and a high enough trust level, and will then need to visit specific mechanics in the game. Bike upgrades can be purchased at Copeland's Camp, Iron Mike's Camp, and Diamond Lake. The first set of upgrades can be purchased at Copeland's Camp, so the player will want to start there. Keep in mind that the player can only purchase upgrades once they reach a certain level of trust with a camp as well. Here are the upgrades that the player should try to purchase first:

Saddlebags 1 - One of the biggest issues that players will run into in the early hours of Days Gone is that they only have a very limited amount of storage for their ammo, and their bike can't store any ammo whatsoever. By purchasing the saddlebag upgrade though they will earn the ability to store ammo on the bike itself, which opens up more space in the player's inventory. This upgrade can be purchased for 800 credits, but players should also keep in mind that it requires level 2 trust with the camp. Working towards this upgrade should be one of the player's first priorities.

Frame 1 - Deacon's bike isn't exactly in the best shape at the beginning of the game, and players will probably find themselves having to stop to repair the bike pretty constantly. Over time this can be a huge drain on the player's scrap resources and can be a big pain. In order to ensure that the bike is capable of taking more damage, the player will want to invest in the Frame 1 upgrade for 500 credits. It won't make the bike indestructible, but it will ensure that it doesn't fall apart after landing a big jump.

Engine 1 - Those who want to increase their bike's speed will want to invest some credits into the engine. The Engine 1 upgrade will boost the overall top speed of the bike, which is sorely needed due to the slow speed that the game starts it at. This upgrade will cost 1200 credits which makes it the most expensive of the first tier of upgrades, but it only requires level one trust with the camp to acquire.

Tire 1 - At first the bike tends to handle like it's driving on a big patch of ice, which means that driving it around can be pretty frustrating sometimes. If the player acquires the Tire 1 upgrade though they will improve its handling considerably. This upgrade costs 840 credits and only needs the level one trust with the camp.
