Augments are a new addition to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, and a few of them offer some of the game's strongest new perks. The addition of augments has given players a new angle to work with in matches, making every match more unique due to its nature. Knowing how to choose the strongest perks will give a player the upper hand in Battle Royale.

Augments in Fortnite will gradually be granted to the player over the course of each match. After a few minutes pass, the player will be given two augments to choose from that will last until the end of the match. Unlike Fortnite's worst gimmick from the past, augments are easy and worthwhile to use. They also have the option to re-roll their choices but can only do so for free once per match. After that, they must pay gold for each re-roll. Each of the augments offers a different buff for the player, and they can collect up to 4 by the end of the match. Although some are minor bonuses, others offer significant advantages.

Most Useful Reality Augments To Use in Fortnite

Sprinting is a mechanic that was introduced during Chapter 3 of Fortnite, and one of Chapter 4's better perks is focused on it. The Soaring Sprint augment grants players the ability to jump incredibly high while sprinting. In addition, it offers players a permanent Hop Flopper effect as long as they sprint, which is an even better movement boost than Fortnite's Alteration Altars from Fortnitemares 2022. This turns sprinting into an even better traversal tool, letting players reach higher ledges and rooftops. As a bonus, sprinting leaps empowered by Soaring Sprint nullify all fall damage. Although Soaring Sprint does not help the player deal more damage, it is an excellent tool for convenient travel.

There are a few augments that will grant the player a weapon, such as a pair of bows. The best of these is Chug Gunner, which gives the player a Chug Cannon for free as soon as they take the augment. The Chug Cannon is unique because it fires healing bursts rather than bullets. In addition to healing teammates in team matches, players can shoot it directly at the ground to heal themselves. When it comes to advancing through Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1's battle pass, having a source of easy healing is much appreciated. Since Chug Cannon ammo restores itself over time, taking Chug Gunner effectively gives the player a source of infinite healing at the cost of two weapon slots.

Since cars were introduced to Fortnite, they have consistently been the most convenient way to get around the island. The Supercharged augment makes the game's vehicles even better than before. With Supercharged, vehicles will have a significant health boost of 500 points. However, the more substantial bonus is that with Supercharged, vehicles driven by the player will not use gas. Unless the vehicle is destroyed, the player can drive indefinitely. As long as the player can find a car after landing in one of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1's best landing spots, Supercharged provides the best method of travel available in Fortnite.

Ironically, Fortnite's best augments don't have much to do with the weapons the players wield. Instead, the more substantial augments are those that give the players bonuses in other areas, with those that make traversing the map easier being the best of the bunch due to their general usefulness. Therefore, during matches in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, players should look for these useful augments above all else.
