When adventuring an open-world in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, players should ideally look for the strongest sets to aid their travels. Armor Sets which give players boosts to stats like Speed and Attack are a huge advantage to the gameplay.

10 Radiant Set

The Radiant Set in BOTW is a dark skeleton-like outfit with glow-in-the-dark features. It includes three different parts: the Radiant Mask, Radiant Shirt, and Radiant Tights which when put together give a great bonus. This set will cost you 2,400 rupees and nine luminous stones and its upgrades require rare monster parts: Bokoblin, Moblin, Molduga, and Lynel guts.

This set's bonuses reflect the appearance of the suit which gives players Attack when using a Bone weapon and a disguise around Stal-type enemies.

9 Zora Set

This special set of Armor made by Zora princesses provides bonuses related to agility and stamina in the water. They allow the ability to swim up waterfalls as well making them extremely useful to complete certain quest lines.

However, take caution when obtaining the Zora Greaves as players will have to take a picture of a Lynel, one of the most feared creatures in the game. Try to be stealthy while taking this photo early on in the game as one player's fate ended up underground from a Lynel that hit Link so hard he bugged out.

8 Flamebreaker Set

The Flamebreaker Set in BOTW is related to its name and keeps the player from Burning and Fire. Getting your hands on this armor allows players to traverse Eldin territory allowing Link to continue adventuring.

Don't try to jump into the lava as it will only protect fiery contact elements rather than let you swim in it. Whether completing the Fireproof Lizard Roundup side quest or buying it from Ripped and Shredded, this armor set provides valid use for Link's safety.

This Armor Set will not provide any benefit to Desert Heat climates so make sure to use this only near volcanic areas in their respective climate.

7 Sheikah/Stealth Set

For the best stealth coverage in BOTW, the Sheikah Set provides helpful bonuses useful for farming and avoiding fights. It is a fairly cheap set to obtain purchased at Enchanted in Kakariko Village. With a Night Speed Up boost at a two-star upgrade as well, this set can be used for assassinating enemies.

Please note, according to YouTuber Caleb Simpson, when using this set Link's defenses are lower so take caution when engaging in fights.

6 Rubber Set

The ancient and rare material called Rubber in Hyrule takes on the form of a set made for Link in BOTW. It is obtainable by side quests and ultimately helps the player traverse more electric environments as well as face off with electric enemies.

For example, one of the hardest boss fights in BOTW, Thunderblight Ganon, can be easily fought with this specific upgraded armor. You should have an easier time during this fight as any shock coming your way will be negated.

5 Climbing Gear Set

With a vast open world to discover throughout BOTW the Climbing Gear Set is necessary for upgrading to get around. Defensively this set is standard and aligns with other utilities, however, upgrades are necessary to decrease travel time and resist stamina loss.

Beginning at Level 2 for this set, Link's climbing ability is boosted even with just 1 item equipped. Climbing Gear can be found at a few well-hidden shrines in BOTW so be prepared for some obscure quests.

4 Hero of the Wild Set

The Hero of the Wild set is powerful and the signature design of the character Link. Originally given to a distant traveling hero of the past, this armor gains tremendous stats when maxed out. Not only will your character don a classic Legend of Zelda look but also boost defense greatly and master Sword Beam Up.

To obtain this entire base armor set, all 120 shrines must be completed as well as the Quest "A Gift from the Monks".

3 Barbarian Armor Set

The Barbarian Armor Set is a group of late-game equips that boost Link's attack significantly. This is very helpful since most of the time spent in the game is based around fighting. According to Zeldadungeon.net, this armor set gives a 50% damage increase at Level 3 which makes fighting faster.

This makes weapons last longer in the long run, especially for higher-level enemy farming. Additionally, this set reduces the amount of Stamina used in charged attacks when this set is equipped.

2 Ancient Set

Researcher Robbie gives players an option to create the Ancient Set, one of the most popular and defensive sets in the game. The reason for the popularity of this set not only is for its stats but also for its resistance to Guardians which are a crucial part of adventuring.

By returning to the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab with Guardian Parts after defeating them players have an opportunity to craft them. Equipping all its pieces will also trigger an 80% attack increase on weapons labeled ancient.

1 Fierce Diety Set

The final and most impressive armor set in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the Fierce Diety Set. Feeling "a fierce godlike power", Link gains an Attack Up and Charge Stamina Attack Up boost making it on par with the Barbarian Set. However, in order to obtain this set one must obtain the Majora Mask Link amiibo for it which unlocks it.

Thankfully, the Barbarian set does the same thing so that players can still reap the Attack Bonus benefit.
