15 Kenjiro Tsuda Made A Great Comedic Character In Shin Yasuda

Character from the anime series Horimiya

Shin Yasuda from the anime series Horimiya.

Though he's not often seen in the 2021 anime adaptation of Horimiya, Kenjiro Tusda's Shin Yasuda is nonetheless a pretty memorable character. An English teacher with a downright uncomfortable interest in his female students, his obsessions are mostly played for laughs, though Western viewers may think of him as more than a little creepy.

That said, while perhaps not one of Kenjiro Tsuda's most prominent roles, he nevertheless gives an energetic and humorous performance as Shin Yasuda, something that goes a long way in Horimiya's primarily character-driven story.

14 Isshiki Was Easily One Of The Best Parts Of Boruto

Character from the anime series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

Fitting given Kenjiro Tsuda's imposing voice, he plays the villainous Isshiki Otsutsuki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. Isshiki is one of the most important villains in Boruto, requiring Naruto to use his ultra-powerful Baryon Mode to even stand a chance. Regardless of how fans feel about the entirety of Boruto, Isshiki and Naruto's fight is a serious highlight, and part of that is Tsuda's electric portrayal.

Tsuda also voices Isshiki's vessel, Jigen.

Kenjiro Tsuda's Isshiki takes an already powerful villain and makes it all the scarier with his cold precision and fury, and it's easily one of the best villain performances of his career, yet.

13 Kishibe Is Made Memorable With His Limited Screen Time

Character from the anime series Chainsaw Man

Kishibe might not get much time to shine in season 1 of Chainsaw Man, but every scene he's in is instantly memorable. Kishibe premiers in episode 10 of Chainsaw Man where he's tasked with training series protagonists Denji and Power. What follows is an interesting and hilarious take on typical training montages as Kishibe's brutal training methods go up against the incredibly hilarious team of Denji and Power.

The shot of Kishibe holding the gun in Chainsaw Man's movie homage opening is a reference to Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction.

Kenjiro Tsuda's performance does wonders to give Kishibe a certain degree of wit and dry humor, making the character an instant fan favorite.

10 Kenjiro Tsuda Made Fango A Standout Villain

Character from the anime series 91 Days

Fango from 91 Days smirking and holding a gun.

91 Days is a gangster-themed revenge story, following a young boy who seeks vengeance for his murdered family. One of the people he seeks revenge on is Fango, an erratic and unbalanced character who constantly double-crosses and makes deals with shady people. Fango enjoys pain, both inflicting it and enduring it, and isn't above doing underhanded tricks to get what he wants.

An eccentric and villainous character like Fango is perfectly in-line with Kenjiro Tsuda's resume, and as such, Kenjiro Tsuda did an amazing job of depicting how twisted and deranged Fango was in every scene he was in.

9 Kenjiro Tsuda Was A Worthy Replacement For Keiji Fujiwara's Hannes

Character from the anime series Attack on Titan

Hannes from Attack on Titan smiling under a clear blue sky

In 2017, the late Keiji Fujiwara stepped down from voicing Hannes in Attack on Titan, and Kenjiro Tsuda was made his replacement.

Both voice actors are known for their smooth and deep vocal performances, and as such, Kenjiro Tsuda did a great job of replicating Keiji Fujiwara's performance to give Hannes the same feel of a mentor figure to Eren and his friends. Kenjiro Tsuda didn't get to voice Hannes that much since the character died soon after Tsuda took over the role, but it's still a very iconic role of his, either way.

Among the various incredibly powerful villains in My Hero Academia, one of the most intimidating is Kenjiro Tsuda's Overhaul. Overhaul is a deadly yakuza boss who comes off as largely level-headed, at first, but grows more frantic as his villain arc reaches its end.

Naturally, that results in Overhaul having a wide assortment of emotions that have to be conveyed, but fortunately, Kenjiro Tsuda's vocal performance always does a great job of capturing Overhaul's emotional state, whether he's meant to be calm, angry, or frantic, and it did a lot to sell Overhaul as one of the best characters in the story.

6 Joker Is An Unbridled Source Of Chaos

Character from the anime series Fire Force

Joker from Fire Force with flames pouring from his hand into his cigarette.

Fire Force is centered around people with the ability to create or manipulate fire, and one of those characters is Kenjiro Tsuda's Joker, an anti-hero sort of character who only does things that serve his own needs.

Fitting the nature of both of his namesakes, the playing card and the classic Batman villain, Joker is very much a chaotic figure, even after his true character begins to be explored, and Kenjiro Tsuda always does a great job of capturing just how much of a chaotic and sadistic character Joker is supposed to be in Fire Force.

Kenjiro Tsuda voices Jegal Taek in The God of High School, one of the top three fighters in the series with an extremely violent and aggravating temperament, often picking fights with those on his own team. Jegal mostly fights with his Charyeok, a Megalodon shark that he can summon to kill his enemies, but his endurance, strength, stamina, and speed are not to be trifled with.

The mystery of the Beholder suits Kenjiro Tsuda's voice well, as Kenjiro Tsuda's delivery perfectly complements the Beholder's otherworldly and intimidating nature and rare moments of humanity. The characters in this series are all brilliantly written, and Tsuda's delivery makes that especially apparent with the Beholder, even with the subtleties of his character.

3 Kento Nanami Is The Perfect Mentor Character

Character from the anime series Jujutsu Kaisen

Among the various characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, one of the most standout characters is undoubtedly Kento Nanami. While initially seeming gruff and unapproachable, Nanami is quickly established to be one of the more emotional and tragic characters in the series, and he ends up being a great mentor figure to Yuji. Even Bleach creator Tite Kubo thought Nanami was a turning point for Jujutsu Kaisen.

Naturally, Kenjiro Tsuda's delivery always did a great job of selling Nanami as someone who could easily flip between being tough and being kind, and despite his limited screen time, he still stands out as one of Tsuda's best performances.

2 Tatsu Is The Only Reason To Watch The Way Of The Househusband

Character from the anime series The Way of the Househusband

The Way of the House Husband follows Tatsu, an ex-yakuza leader who settles down with his wife and decides to become a househusband. Previously known as The Immortal Dragon, Tatsu brings his severity and passion to everything he does, including cleaning the house, making lunch for his wife, and attending yoga classes with the other housewives.

Kenjiro Tsuda's voice is perfect for both the comedic and serious situations that Tatsu finds himself in, as his signature drawl juxtaposes the comedy well and more than makes up for its awkward animation style.

1 Seto Kaiba Is Still Kenjiro Tsuda's Most Iconic Role

Character from the anime series Yu-Gi-Oh!

While Yu-Gi-Oh!'s Seto Kaiba is most closely associated with Eric Stuart's performance as Kaiba, Kenjiro Tsuda's take is just as good, if not better. Both voice actors are great at capturing the hamminess of Kaiba's character, but between the two of them, Kenjiro Tsuda is the one who makes Kaiba feel like a real character through how well he sells his aloofness and rare moments of kindness.

Seto Kaiba has long been one of the most iconic anime characters of all time, and that, in turn, has made him the best anime character voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda.
