In spite of the community that surrounds him and his loving support system, Toobie is still exposed to negative influences in Baltimore and still feels pressure about life decisions he will ultimately need to make. The film depicts his journey learning to make the decisions that are right for him.

The most notable actor credited in the movie is Maria Broom, best known for her work on the television show The Wire.

Sophisticated Acquaintance - 9.0

Sophisticated Acquaintance is an independent film documenting Klaus Mann, the son of acclaimed writer Thomas Mann, living in Philadelphia and struggling to get out of his father's shadow. This film seems to be a fictionalized account of the real-life Klaus Mann's relationship with his father Thomas Mann. Trigger warnings include suicide, which is a prominent theme in the film, so those interested in watching this film should proceed with caution.

From Wharf Rats To Lords Of The Docks - 9.1

From Wharf Rats to Lords of the Docks is a biographical film about Harry Bridges, an Australian immigrant who travels to San Francisco where he has a large impact on the labor movement in the 1930s and the 1940s. The film documents Bridges' fight for the common worker and for social programs such as healthcare and social security while fighting against discrimination and McCarthyism.

The film is based on Ian Ruskin's one-man play of the same name. Ruskin reprises his role as Bridges for the film and is joined by Elliott Gould and Edward Asner, who play themselves, according to the IMDb cast credits.

Jonna's Body, Please Hold - 9.1

Jonna's Body, Please Hold is a comedy film about Jonna and her internal receptionist, who takes calls from personified versions of Jonna's different body parts, handling their complaints and their needs. Jonna, however, neglects her body, leaving her vulnerable for outside "killers" (an infection) to infiltrate her body. Jonna then has to take care of her body in order to properly fight off these killers inside her body.

Jonna Tamases plays the titular character Jonna, as well as the personified versions of Jonna's body parts and the internal receptionist, Pearl.

Complete Map Of The Universe - 9.2

Complete Map of the Universe is a documentary covering the real-life game show from the 1990s entitled The Kelvin Game Show in which patients (contestants) were psychoanalyzed while kept in a dark and locked house for a month. The contestants' mental states were measured based on their temperature, with Kelvin thermometers, and their actual mental state using the "EST degree." The winner of the show was whoever could survive the ordeal.

The film showed footage of the show and two former contestants of the show watching said footage. Reviewers on IMDb have likened the game show itself to Big Brother.

Rifftrax: The Star Wars Holiday Special - 9.2

Rifftrax is a production company best known for its show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (or MST3K) and is run by the comedians involved in MST3K: Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett. For this film, the Rifftrax trio used their improvisational commentating developed from their time on MST3K to view The Star Wars Holiday Special, which originally aired in 1978.

The Other Half of the Sky, also known as Shtar M'Haba in Arabic and L'Autre Moitié du Ciel in French, is a Tunisian and French drama film. It follows Sélima and Sélim, twenty-year-old twins who live with their father Ali, an advocate at a bar, in Tunis after their mother died giving birth to them.

Since the movie is both Tunisian and French, it is filmed in the Arabic language. IMDb does not give any more information about the plot, nor are there detailed user reviews regarding the film or its content other than providing the 9.2/10 rating.

Carlo Goldoni: Venezia, Gran Teatro Del Mondo - 9.2

Carlo Goldoni: Venezia, Gran Teatro del Mondo is an Italian historical film about Carlo Goldoni who, while in Venice, predicted the Franch Revolutions of the 1700s would bring a revival and renewal of European theatre. Goldoni himself was involved in this revival by writing and producing plays that went beyond the at-the-time traditional structures of comedy and tragedy.

His plays illuminated the true nature of the bourgeoisie (upper class) during the Age of Enlightenment, the time period in which Goldoni lived and wrote and produced his plays. The film made its debut in Italy in 2007 before premiering in Canada over a year later.

Night Of Hoora - 9.6

Night of Hoora, or Houra's Night, is an Iranian film, filmed in the Farsi language, though IMDb describes the language as Persian. It has the highest rating of all of the feature films released in 2007, yet IMDb offers no plot summary or synopsis and does not provide detailed user reviews other than the 9.6 out of 10 stars.

According to another site, Houra is a university professor in search of her husband, who went missing during an unspecified war (but likely one of the many military conflicts of the 2000s). During her search, she encounters two narcotic drug dealers and witnesses them commit a murder. Houra then has to survive her time with the dealers, who are unsure whether or not to kill her.
