Michael Douglas’ portrayal of Benjamin Franklin can now be seen in a newly released photo for the currently untitled upcoming Apple TV+ Benjamin Franklin-based limited series. Based on the book A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Stacy Schiff, the untitled Apple TV+ limited series will see Franklin striving to make one of the greatest gambles of his career as he attempts to convince France to endorse America’s dabbling in democracy. Outside of Douglas, the eight-episode limited drama series will also see Noah Jupe in a leading role, as he portrays Temple Franklin, the diplomat, secretary, and Benjamin’s own grandson. 

Now, Apple TV+ has revealed first-look photos of Douglas taking on his upcoming role of Franklin for the streamer’s untitled series. Douglas can be seen donning a version of the iconic wig that the famed publisher and inventor has been known for since America’s birth. Besides Douglas and Jupe, the upcoming untitled Apple TV+ limited series will also see Ludivine Sagnier, Thibault de Montalembert, Daniel Mays, Assaad Bouab, Eddie Marsan, Jeanna Balibar, and Theodore Pellerin among its cast. The eight-episode drama series will see Douglas as an executive producer alongside the series writer Kirk Ellis, with Tim Van Patten in the director’s chair. Apple TV+ has currently not released a premiere date for the upcoming untitled Benjamin Franklin limited series.
