Below Deck season 9 is only eight episodes in, and already the season has had several dramatic and memorable moments. Viewers got a whole new crew for season 9 except for Chef Rachel Hargrove and bosun turned first officer Eddie Lucas. Even Captain Lee was missing from the first two episodes with Captain Sean filling in as her short-term replacement.

However, compared to last year, fans are enjoying some of the new crew members. New chief stew Heather Chase is a breath of fresh air compared to last season's chief stew, Francesca Rubi. Unlike Francesca, Heather wants to see her stews succeed even though she may come off a little bossy. Even the deck team is much more likable this season. Besides being likable, they also know how to playfully stir the pot onboard.

Fraser And Jake's Kiss

In episode 6, second stew Fraser Olender and lead deckhand Jake Foulger had a drunken make-out in the back of the van on their way home from their crew night out. Before sharing a kiss, the second stew and the lead deckhand were already engaging in some fun together when they skinny-dipped in the pool located at the restaurant. The following morning, Fraser felt so embarrassed by the Kiss, but Jake assured him it was all in good fun.

When Jake Said He Was Engaged

Jake Foulger from Below Deck season 9

After kissing fellow deckhand Rayna Lindsey just hours before, Jake admits to having a fiancée back home. Rayna was unsurprisingly shocked by his revelation as she couldn't believe Jake could kiss her if he knew he had someone back home. However, Jake, who is close with Fraser, assured his crewmate that it was all good since he and his fiancée are in a non-monogamous relationship. Still, Rayna was put off by Jake's surprise engagement, immediately regretting locking lips with her boss.

When A Charter Guest Crossed The Line

Justin Richards Below Deck

Their second charter guests, Justin Richards and Michael Durham were some of the worst guests in Below Deck history. Not only did everyone get absolutely wasted, but Justin refused to eat with everyone and even yelled at some of the crew members. He told Heather to "f**k off" multiple times, causing Eddie to intervene. Justin even spoke poorly to one of the fellow charter guests, which was also a cause for concern. The following day, Justin, the charter guest, and the rest of the guests did apologize, and luckily all was forgiven.

Below Deck season 9 is only seven episodes in, and it's already one of the most entertaining seasons from the franchise. Hopefully, this means there is more drama to come.
