Fans of Below Deck are wondering if season 8 will have fewer episodes due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They aren't sure if the production team will be able to pull off a full season. Currently, the crew seems oblivious to the fact that they are sailing into danger.

The rules of yachting are simple and finite. Any true yachtie knows that it's all about signing your NDA, doing your job, and getting your check and tips. Bravo's nautical-themed show follows around the crew and filthy rich guests as they explore at sea. There are sometimes lines that cast members are unwilling to cross. The film crew gets up close and personal as drama surges below deck, thanks to the boat crew and its shenanigans. As the 150-foot yacht island-hops throughout the season, each episode features a different group of guests. Viewers watch the crew scurry around, trying to make five-star meals and turndown service look easy. However, this season may not turn out like the others, due to a worldwide pandemic.

The trailer for the show was released by Bravo and it made Below Deck season eight look amazing. Captain Lee was heard saying that he had not been to the Caribbean in years and missed it. The trailer showed how the coronavirus massively impacted the charter season. The closing remark before the trailer ends is Captain Lee telling the Bravo cameras that there is "no crying in yachting." Now, fans have just gotten to the episodes when the worldwide pandemic will start to take effect.

Fans can already tell that the crew had no idea that while they were working hard on the islands, trouble was brewing at home. Rachel Hargrove seemed to be the only one tuned in to the devastation due to her Italian boyfriend giving her constant updates. While it is obvious to Bravo fans that the industry was shut down thanks to "no travel" orders, many wondered how it affected the filming of the season. While Captain Lee Rosbach has commented that there are now a few more protocols, such as testing negative before sailing off, the season did not look like it was going to be impacted at all. The very first season of Below Deck had 11 episodes, with season 7 ending on episode 20. Below Deck season 8 is about to air episode 9 and is very much on par with having a full season.

There is also an episode 10 scheduled for the New Year, on January 4, when Captain Lee has to lay down the law and possibly end a charter. There is no word from the network as to whether that will be the season's last episode, but if Captain Lee ends a charter, which he has never done, it would also make sense that this is where the party ends.
